Winter Wedding Nuptials for Linsey & Chris

Linsey has been a dear friend for many years. We met years ago when she worked at one of my favorite catering company’s. Several years later, she worked with me here at Janice Blackmon Events. When she asked me to assist in planning her wedding, I was humbled, honored and ECSTATIC!

The venue selection process covered a lot of options, but the final selection was absolutely perfect!

The outdoor terrace at Marcel restaurant was the setting for the intimate exchange of vows. As guests arrived, they were treated with a Beverage Bar, offering hot beverages as well as bubbly!

With a beautiful fireplace as the focal point on Marcel’s terrace, a friend of the couple officiated the ceremony. Their fur-babies, Luna and Max, served as Floral Dog and Honorary Ring Bearer.

One of the very touching and memorable parts of the ceremony was the “warming of the rings” which is having the rings passed through all of their guests so that each could say a prayer or offer a wish on them.

Guests were provided soft, cozy blankets to keep them warm while they witnessed the couple pledging their love to each other.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception location, one of Atlanta’s newest restaurants, Lyla Lila, where the groom serves as Manager. The restaurant provided a delicious array of food that guests could eat at their leisure, while the bar was serving up libations. The couple had a Cheese Cake skillfully decorated with charcuterie. The bride’s mom also provided a traditional wedding cake from a pastry chef in south Georgia that has made all of the special occasion cakes for the family for many years.

This celebration was so full of love and perfectly unique for the couple. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family. Everyone had a fantastic time and it was truly a celebration filled with love and happiness!!

Special thanks to Sunny Lee Photography for providing the beautiful images in this post.

We wish Linsey & Chris a lifetime of happiness and adventures. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding – it truly was an honor!!!

Cecilia & Ben’s Spectacular Day!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:00 am by JBEvents

I am one of the lucky Event Planner’s, because I have fabulous clients!!!! Cecilia & Ben are certainly part of that group. We had a great time planning their wedding and the result was – well you can see for yourself. A good time was had by all! This couple exudes love and happiness which you can see by the expressions on their faces and the way they interact together.

Capturing the beauty of the day was none other than Kristen Alexander and the also amazing Jonathan Nye of Cre8ive Video.

Huge shout out to Kim Jordan of Woodruff Arts Center for referring this wonderful couple to me! Thank you so much! It was a pleasure working with Kim to make sure all of the venue details were expertly handled. Kim was even able to get special permission for photos of the whole wedding party to be taken in the High Museum since it was raining and photos couldn’t be taken outside. Woodruff Arts Center is a beautiful place for weddings and corporate events.

Christopher Macksey of Topher Mack, created the stunning floral. The phalaenopsis orchids were amazing. The whole design aspect was unique with a classic, modern and sleek style – perfect for this couple! They also provided light walls out on the terrace which gave a very interesting focal decor piece. Guests enjoyed taking selfies there throughout the evening.

Brad and the Livin Large band kept the crowd entertained and on the dance floor all night.

The beautiful cake was from Sweet Creations by Candi. The ombre sugar paste flowers were spectacular!

Adding to the fun of the evening, the couple provided masquerade masks for guests to wear while they danced the night away! This was a huge hit!! It was entertaining watching guests select their mask with such care, and then taking on somewhat of a different persona out on the dance floor.

It was an amazing day, despite the rain. Cecilia and Ben didn’t let the raindrops stop them from having a fabulous and flawless wedding.

We wish them a lifetime of happiness and adventures!!

I also have to give a HUGE shout-out to my team. They are always amazing and make sure that every clients event is fabulous and flawless – but they had to do extra duty on this one for me since due to my injury, I’m not able to put weight on my leg and have to get around in a wheelchair. So, my fantastic team, not only had a million tasks related to the wedding, they also had to assist me in getting around. I can never thank them enough for always giving a 100% to ensure my client is ecstatic with how the wedding/event turned out, but also being there for me!

Historic City Nuptials for Lindsay & Aaron

When you pair America’s oldest city, St. Augustine, Florida, with a sweet and beautiful couple, you get a spectacular wedding!!!

The historic city always held a special place in Lindsay’s heart, so when this Sarasota, Florida native was planning her wedding, St. Augustine was the logical choice.

The venue chosen was The White Room Loft and Rooftop located on the Matanzas River. With sweeping views of the River , The Bridge of Lions and old town St. Augustine, the setting was truly magical.

Lindsay and her Mom created so many beautiful touches for the wedding.  From a lovely Seating Assignment display to vintage photo albums containing photos of the couple.  To go along with the “vintage” camera era, Polaroid cameras were provided for guests to snap photos of themselves to place in a memory book for the couple.  Guests had so much fun!

The ceremony took place on the Roof top.  As guests arrived, they were greeted with Prosecco Pops while they mingled.  Then when it was time for the vows, they took their seat and watched as the couple exchanged vows with the gorgeous water view.  An interesting part of the ceremony was what they used as the Unity Ceremony.  Instead of a candle or sand, they used colored glass pieces that will later be blown into a lasting trinket for the couple to display in their home.

The guests were treated to an amazing array of food from delicious displays for Cocktail Hour with specialty beverages to a 5 course meal to a huge dessert display including a ROot Beer Float station, Hot Chocolate Station, Cookie display and a Strawberry Shortcake station.  Guests definitely left with full bellies.

As a post-wedding treat, the guests were suppose to go play mini-golf, however, a few weeks before the wedding, Hurricane Matthew hit and unfortunately destroyed the mini-golf course, so instead, guests were treated to a Trolley Ride through historic St. Augustine.  It was an excellent end to the evening.

We wish Lindsay & Aaron a lifetime of happiness.  We were indeed honored to have a part in your special day!!!

Leslie & Andre’ say I DO in Grand Style!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:00 am by JBEvents

Leslie and Andre’ selected one of Atlanta’s most beautiful venues, The Swan House and the Grand Overlook Ballroom of the Atlanta History Center.  While they may not be huge “Hunger Games” fans, the location certainly didn’t go unnoticed by their wedding guests.

I fell in love with Leslie’s dress.  It was absolutely STUNNING!!!  She had a custom head piece made to compliment her attire.  When Andre saw her for the first time, he was filled with emotion.

In lieu of a large wedding cake, the couple opted for a small cake from HH Desserts,  to be used for cutting, then a dessert display was provided for guests to enjoy.  Bold American Events provided the delicious food for the wedding as well as the tasty treats on the dessert display of a Red Velvet cake shooter, Oreo whoopie pies and Key Lime cake pops.

Event Performance provided the string ensemble for the ceremony, and DJ Jeff kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening.

Leslie and her siblings prepared a special dance for the guests and had her father join in.  This was definitely a crowd pleaser.
