Ali and Conner’s Special Day!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:35 am by JBEvents

One of the highest compliments and truly an honor that we can receive is to be referred by a previous client!  We absolutely love referrals and this couple was no exception!!!  Ali and Conner were referred from a previous client (Thank you Karyn & Shelby), and we are so happy to have them as a part of the JBEvents family!

The couple selected Little River Farms as the venue for their wedding!  The venue, located in Milton, GA., sits on a beautiful piece of land beside a lake.  There are a couple of options for where to have your ceremony on the property.  Ali and Conner chose the vineyard.  A partially enclosed Pavilion offers a great place for the reception, while inside the house was perfect for Cocktail Hour as well as a respite for those that wanted to find a quiet place to sit and have a conversation.

Capturing the beautiful images of the day was Kaylan Bradley of Happy Everything Co.  Thank you so much for not only capturing beautiful images, but also for sharing them!

The bride wore a stunning fit and flare gown designed by Essence of Australia.  Ali looked like a living doll!

Before the ceremony, the couple shared letters they had written each other which is always such a sweet moment.  But Conner also gave Ali a framed hand-made sign that read “Together 2704 days, and I have loved you since day 1!” If I’m being honest, that brought a tear or two to my eyes!  What a sweet gesture – and when you see this couple together, you absolutely feel the love.

One of my favorite parts of planning is the event design and decor component.  Ali and Conner wanted an elegant, rustic design theme, and JWilbur of EventScapes perfectly combined a rustic approach with a unique and elegant design.

The ceremony took place in the vineyard.  The couple exchanged their vows standing in front of a stunning arbor graced with soft fabrics, clusters of flowers holding back the drapery and floral blooms hanging in individual small glass bottles.  The finished product was gorgeous! Rev. Rodney Hunt officiated the ceremony.  The couple wrote their vows and I dare say there wasn’t a dry eye.

A unique part of the ceremony was the wine ceremony.  This is a type of unity ceremony that is a take on the traditional lighting of the unity candle.  In this type of ceremony, the couple each takes a vessel of wine (1 red, 1 white) and pours them into one glass.  Once the wines are poured together, they can’t be separated, which is the whole concept of a wedding ceremony uniting a couple.  They couple then each took a sip of the combined wine as a symbol of fully becoming one.

A custom design was created for the Estate Table.  A 35+ foot structure was created along the Estate Table to allow EventScapes to create a suspended look with glass bubbles and candlelight.  They further enhanced the setting  with accents of flowers of the day and greenery.  Along the table itself was loose eucalyptus and votive candles along with a series of vases for the bridesmaids bouquets.

The guest tables had a variety of styles of designs.  Some were lanterns enhanced with moss and rose petals, while others had an eclectic collection of vases each filled with flowers of the day.  All of the designs were surrounded by votive candles offering a flickering elegance.

Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Talk of the Town caterers.  Topped off with a delectable wedding cake by Cake Envy.

DJ Lou, of Spectrum Entertainment kept the guests on the dance floor partying all night long!!

WedFlix was on hand to create a lasting video memory of the special day.

As a late night snack, guests enjoyed a popcorn bar complete with all the fixings!

We were thrilled to be a part of Ali and Conner’s amazing day!  We wish them a lifetime of happiness!!!!!

Meggie & Matt Get Married!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:05 am by JBEvents

A lovely day in a picturesque location was the perfect setting for Meggie & Matt to exchange vows in front of their family and friends.

romine_wedding_-159

The vision for the ceremony was to feel like you were in the woods.   Varying sizes of tree trunks were brought in to create an altar which was then accented with Lanterns and flowers.  Gracing the aisle were wood slices adorned with vases of white flowers with just a touch of soft pink flowers. With the surrounding trees and grassy knolls, the setting was magical.

A close friend of the couple designed and created other original items for the wedding.  One of the featured designs was a large, free-standing wooden sign crafted with an aluminum center held the table assignments for the reception.  The name of the couple was burned into the bottom for a lasting memory of their special day.

There were also wooden signs created for the Bar and the Menu for the evening.

The reception decor inside the ballroom was a classic and elegant look with a mixture of low and high centerpieces creating visual interest and beauty.  A long Estate Table provided seating for the couple and their wedding party and was a focal point of the room.

Guests were highly entertained by a special toast from the Bride’s father — he welcomed Matt into the family providing a variety of props including a steer harness and branding iron.  The story that he gave during the toast had everyone in hysterics.

We wish Meggie & Matt a lifetime of happiness!!

We were pleased to be a part of this couple’s wedding and enjoyed working with the other vendors involved to create another flawless event!

Amanda and Matthew were Married at The Rock!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:00 am by JBEvents

A wonderful group of vendors worked together to create a beautiful wedding for Amanda and Matthew.  The color palette was Navy Blue with an accent of Yellow.  The Bridesmaids wore Navy dresses while the guys wore Khaki suits.  The group looked very attractive!

The ceremony was held at the Lakeside Pavilion at Stone Mountain, with Reception to follow in the Stone Mountain Ballroom of the Marriott Evergreen Conference Center.

Lee Patterson was capturing the images of the day.  We would like to extend our appreciation to him for providing the beautiful images included in this post!

Amadeus String ensemble provided the music for the ceremony, and as always they sounded amazing!

Foxgloves and Ivy created the stunning floral creations for the wedding.  The bouquets were beautiful and the centerpieces for the reception were just gorgeous!

Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes created the custom Wedding and Groom’s Cakes which were both a huge hit ~ both visually and taste!

Spectrum Entertainment provided DJ Alex who kept the crowd on their feet dancing all night long.

Amp’d Entertainment provided a Photo Booth where guests had a blast taking fun photos with props all throughout the evening!

The couple departed in a vintage convertible which belongs to a relative!

We enjoyed working with this sweet couple and wish them a lifetime of Happiness!!!!

Kendra & Patrick’s Wedding in the Park

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:30 am by JBEvents

A warm, sunny summer day was the backdrop for the wedding of Kendra & Patrick at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park.

The bride and her attendants started the day off with Hair and Make-up services provided by Trio Hair and Make-up Design.

Once dressed, the Bride and her attendants were taken from the hotel to Park Tavern in a limo provided by Atlantic Limousine.

Jessica Horwitz was the photographer for the wedding, and we certainly enjoyed working with her and her team.  The photos included here are images she graciously provided. The bride even had a “celebrity” visit during her photo session ~ Baton Bob happened to be passing (Marching) by and when he saw the bride in the Park he came over and posed for a few photos with her.  It was certainly an unexpected but fun treat.

The staff at Park Tavern always do such a nice job.  We are always happy to work alongside them.

Chelsea Floral Designs provided the gorgeous florals.  The arbor they built for the ceremony was perfect for that venue.  The bouquets were beautiful and contained an interesting mixture of flowers and textures.

Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes created the beautiful wedding cake which was inspired by the lace on the bride’s gown.

Everyone enjoyed taking photos in the photo booth provided by Shutterbooth!  Whether they wore the fun props or just posed pretty for the pictures, the photo booth was a popular activity for the group.  I’m sure the memory book that was created will provide many fun and happy remembrances of the celebration.

DJ Andrew from Spectrum Entertainment kept the party rockin.  He did a wonderful job of reading the crowd and playing songs that kept the dance floor full.

We were pleased to have worked with these clients and to produce a beautiful wedding celebration that was nothing less than flawless!

We wish a lifetime of Happiness to Kendra & Patrick!!

Mitzvah & Weddings recap

Posted in Other Events, Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 5:22 pm by JBEvents

What a Busy few weeks we have had!!!  In the past 3 weeks we have produced 5 amazing events!!  I can’t wait to catch you all up on the details of each but just to give you a sneak peek – here are just a few of the highlights!!

Mazel Tov ~ Harris & Sara

A ROCK themed B’nai Mitzvah held at The Tabernacle!!!  What an amazing event this was! Incredible venue, excellent vendors and a family that was so wonderful to work with!! Wilbur of EventScapes created some of the most unique and fabulous decor pieces for this event that I’ve ever seen.  Special features of this Mitzvah included a Karaoke Band surprise performance AND custom created Milk Shake station provided by FLIP Gourmet Burger Boutique.

Amira & Ibe ~ Wedded Bliss

This was truly a gorgeous wedding for a gorgeous couple!  Held at the Ritz-Carlton ~ Downtown with some of the top vendors in the area providing their services!  The décor was jaw-droppingly beautiful ~ thanks to Wilbur of EventScapes!  The always amazing Scott Mikell of Spectrum-Entertainment provided the reception entertainment and kept the crowd on the dance floor with a mix of American tunes as well as Arabic tunes for the couple’s homage.  The cakes from Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes…WOW…truly artistic creations with exquisite detail not to mention fabulous taste!

Ashley & Daniel ~ Married with the Fishes

You can’t help but love a wedding at the Georgia Aquarium!  Ashley & Daniel had a beautiful wedding with the help of Your Event Solutions, who created a one-of-a-kind Chuppah where the vows took place.  Allegro Strings provided the ceremony and Cocktail Hour music while the Atlanta ShowStoppers Band provided the high-energy entertainment keeping the dance floor filled all night long! We provided a Candy Buffet that was a HUGE hit!

Sara & Evan ~ Midtown Atlanta Wedding in Piedmont Park

Peachtree Christian Church was the setting for the vows while The Garden Tent at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park was the reception venue.  The bride had a dream of being a Cinderella bride and she did not disappoint.  We had the pleasure of working with some of our favorite vendors on this wedding as well such as Foxgloves & Ivy, Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes, Chair Covers & Linens and Shimmer the Band.

Intimate Family Gathering ~ Garden Tent

Sometimes, it does happen that things don’t go as planned.  Unfortunately for one of our clients, we had a cancellation of the wedding 48 hours before the big day.  I have to tell you that this was an emotional situation for everyone involved and while this is never the desired outcome, the reason I mention it is because as the Event Consultant, we handle “un-doing” of the plans for the affected families.  Since a cancellation is not planned or anticipated, the clients usually don’t know where to turn and what to do – especially since they are also dealing with all of the emotions involved.  Having the Consultant handle the details of the cancellation and providing the information to all vendors as well as following back up with the clients on any financial issues – at least helps get them through the difficult time.  Although the wedding didn’t take place, we did turn this into a small intimate family dinner and the clients were very pleased with the services provided.

As soon as time allows — a more detailed post for each of these amazing events will be posted.  Until then – I hope you enjoy these snapshots!!

Check back soon!!!

Molly & Danny got married…

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:45 pm by JBEvents

A beautiful Spring day was the backdrop for the wedding of Molly & Danny.

The “girls” started the day getting beautified by the excellent team from Formal Faces. Jennifer, Julie & Courtney worked their magic on the girls and created some really stunning and interesting hair styles. The girls were all so happy with their services and they all looked even more beautiful than they already were.

Molly and her bridesmaids purchased their dresses at New Natalies. Molly chose a gorgeous gown that had intricate detail with a sweetheart neck and low back. The bridesmaids wore a figure-flattering royal blue chiffon gown in two different styles.

The florals, provided by The Flower Post, were all white with green accents. The bridesmaid bouquets were wrapped with a green satin ribbon. The bouquets looked so pretty against the blue dresses.

Capturing the images of the day was Catherine Park of My Life Photography. Once Molly was dressed, we went out onto the streets of Midtown for some fun and beautiful city portraits. The wedding party felt like celebrities as the passersby honked and yelled out compliments and Congratulations.

The wedding party transported to the church in a fun and stylish way…on a Trolley.  The Atlanta Trolley and the Georgia Tech Trolley were used to transport the wedding party as well as guests.

The ceremony was held at Shrine of the Immaculate Conception with Father Henry Gracz presiding.

After the ceremony then it was time for the party to begin.  Park Tavern ~ Piedmont Room was the setting.  As guests arrived, they were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres and beverages which included a signature cocktail, The Blushing Bride.  It was a huge hit.

Molly selected a Royal Blue moire linen for her guest tables from Chair Covers and LinensThe Flower Post provided arrangements in beautiful silver vases filled with white flowers.  The contrast of the white against the royal blue was gorgeous.

With Piedmont Park and the lovely views provided, Catherine had some fun with the wedding party prior to their joining the Reception.  The wedding party was such a fun group.

Guests had such fun using the Photo Booth.  There were  props that some guests chose to use in their photos, while others just relied on their own creativity.

Once the Wedding Party was introduced and had their shining moment, Molly and Danny were introduced in and had their first dance as a married couple.

The Wedding and Groom’s Cakes were provided by the ever amazing Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes.  The wedding cake was just gorgeous with a matching pattern in Molly’s dress.  Giving a nod to the Groom’s New York roots, the Groom’s cake was a NY Mets design with little baseballs trimming the bottom.  Guests were coming back for seconds of the delicious cakes.

Keeping the crowd entertained throughout the evening was the incomparable Scott Mikell of Spectrum-Entertainment.  It is always such a pleasure working with Scott because I know that everyone is going to have a wonderful and fun time.

Delicious personalized chocolates were provided as favors for the guests.

Since the couple was moving to New York right after the wedding, it was appropriate that the Last Dance Song of the night was New York, New York.  Although the wedding ended on a high note, there was a tad of sadness from the bridesmaids since they would be having to say goodbye to their dear friend.  But – I see many trips to The Big Apple in store for all of them.

The couple departed along with their guests on the Trolley at the end of the evening.  And from what I heard, the party continued at the St. Regis.

We were so pleased to work with this couple and to create a flawless wedding for them.  And now, we wish Molly and Danny a lifetime of Happiness.

She Said YES to more than just the Dress!!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:03 pm by JBEvents

What a great couple!  You can’t help but smile when you look at these 2.

The day began with Ryan and Tarra from The Moore Agency providing hair and make-up services for the crew.  As always, they did a wonderful job and had the bridal party looking just beautiful.

Nita had been featured on the TLC show, “Say Yes to the Dress” and I would have to say, she made an excellent selection.  The dress she chose was a Lazaro fit n flare design with a slight sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical ruffles starting just below the hips.  The dress also had a champagne sash with a side-bow.

She wore different accessories for the ceremony and reception – both of which looked fabulous with the dress.  For the ceremony, she wore a three-strand of pearls, while for the reception; she changed to a more modern chunky necklace that paired well for the party.

The bridesmaids wore short eggplant colored dresses by Jim Hjelm.  The bouquets which contained pink peonies really stood out against the dresses. The four young greeters wore hot pink dresses.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was the site for the traditional Filipino ceremony led by Father Mario Lopez.

The wedding party departed the church after the ceremony in a Trolley and made a few photo stops along the way with one being the Woodruff Arts Center, before arriving at the reception location of The Ritz-Carlton ~ Buckhead.

Capturing the images of the day were Chris and Allie of The Reason photography.

My staff videographer was also capturing the memories of the day and I’m sure the end result will be one that the couple looks back on years from now and will be able to relive the emotions of the day.

As guests arrived at the Ritz-Carlton ~ Buckhead, there were greeted with delicious hors d’oeuvres and beverages which included the signature drink of a White Sangria.  A video montage provided entertainment for the guests while they enjoyed Cocktail Hour.

Once guests were invited into the Ballroom, they entered to see yet another vision of beauty.  The 17 tables held two different types of floral centerpieces designed by Flowers From Us.  The tall arrangements consisted of a clear vase with a submerged stem of orchids while a lush arrangement in various shades of pinks, purples and greens with crystal beads draped around graced the top of the vase.  The other tables had a variety of different sized clear vases each with monochromatic stems of flowers for a very interesting display.

The wedding party had a great time as they strutted their stuff while being introduced – but not to be upstaged, the bride and groom entered and proceeded to have their first dance, which they choreographed to the wonderful jazz standard, At Last by Etta James.  The groom had confessed he didn’t sleep the night before because he was worrying about the dance – but judging from the sidelines, I would give them a 10!

DJ Ryan from Spectrum Entertainment kept the crowd entertained throughout the event.  I think that all of the guests were more than ready to begin dancing by the time dinner was complete.  Spectrum also provided the ambient lighting and the gobo that was projected onto the dance floor.

McEntyre’s bakery provided the round 5 tiered cake that was embellished with a French scroll design on each tier while a cluster of peonies graced the top of the cake.

When it came time for toasts, the Best Man, long time friend of the groom and the Maid of Honor, youngest sister of the Bride reveled the crowd with amusing anecdotes.

One of the very fun and popular aspects of the evening was the Photo Booth supplied by the photographers.  The couple provided some of the props which included small chalkboards, fake mustaches, hats, glasses and various other fun items.

Towards the end of the evening, guests were treated to a late night snack of sliders and fries.  It was a total hit!

When it came time for the party to end, guests were invited to wish the couple farewell with a bubble fanfare.  One of the sweetest moments of the day came during the few minutes while the bride and groom were hanging out in the ballroom after the guests had left to get ready for the bubble fanfare, and the DJ started playing a song and the two of them just started dancing.  It was completely unscripted and very touching.

We are so happy to have been a part of this celebration, and making it even more special to us, was this was the second wedding for this family that we had the pleasure of coordinating!!!

Wishing happiness always to Nita and James!!
