Botanical Bliss for Katie & Brandon

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:48 am by JBEvents

One of our beautiful Spring weddings took place at the Atlanta Botanical Garden!  The adorable couple, Katie and Brandon, were such a sweet couple to work with and their wedding day was just spectacular!!

Starting the day off in her family home, Katie, her Mom, Grandmother and sister had their hair and make-up done by the talented team at Authentic Beauty.  Once complete, we loaded them up in the shuttle provided by Atlantic Limousine and headed to the Renaissance Hotel to pick up the bridesmaids.  From there it was time to head to the Atlanta Botanical Garden!

Katie selected her beautiful wedding gown at Bridal’s by Lori and had alterations done by the amazing Rodica Lazarian!  The bridesmaids dresses were lapis colored from David’s Bridal.  They all looked lovely.

Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor for the day, but even so, Shari Zellers, used her creativity to find beautiful areas to take the pre-ceremony photos while keeping everyone as dry as possible.  She did a fantastic job!  When the Groom and his groomsmen arrived, we kept them tucked away until the bride was safely hidden and then Shari had a great time photographing the guys.

The ceremony was performed by a close friend of the couple which made for a very intimate and truly custom ceremony.  The Groom, who is a journalist wrote the ceremony and then the couple wrote their own vows.

The stunning decor was provided by EventScapes.  The vision was to enhance the feel of the Botanical Garden without overpowering it which was done by keeping the design in a natural state with elements like birch, driftwood, and moss.  The arbor designed for the ceremony was one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen.  It was created with twisted willow branches with floral touches and greenery.  Lush pomander balls with deep purple flowers decorated the aisle.  The reception decor was fabulous.  The Head Table had a long and lush design mixed with candles of varying heights.  The linens of moss-green and eggplant further enhanced the look of the room.  The draping behind the band made for an elegant presentation while providing a lovely focal point.

The Amati Chamber Ensemble provided the ceremony and Cocktail Hour music.  This group never disappoints.  They make the entire process from hiring/Contracting until playing the last note of their performance so easy for the client.  Sarah Paul is so accommodating in working with each client to make certain that the musical selections are just what they want for their special day.  These musicians are top-notch in every area and we love working with them.

Another one of our favorite vendors to work with, PPi, provided the sound system for the ceremony making sure that all guests were able to hear the couple saying their vows.

A Divine Event provided the delicious southern-inspired meal which guests truly enjoyed.

Getting the reception started included the Bride’s Father welcoming all of the guests and then the Grandfather of the Groom offering the Blessing.  The couple had their first dance followed by the always special, Father/Daughter dance!

The beautiful and delicious wedding cake was provided by Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes.  The cake was cheesecake and guests were seen going back for seconds and thirds.

The clients treated their guests to transportation from the three host hotels to the venue and back to the hotels since many of the guests were from out-of-town.  Atlantic Limo provided our transportation all weekend long and was such a huge help in making sure that everyone was where they needed to be in a timely and professional manner.

We were so happy to assist this wonderful family with the wedding plans and we wish Katie and Brandon a Lifetime of Happiness!!

Holiday Nuptials for Katelyn & Ross

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:00 am by JBEvents

Getting married around the Holiday’s is such a special time especially when you have family traveling in from all over to join in the joyous occasion.  Such was the case for Katelyn and Ross.  Their ceremony was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with reception to follow at the InterContinental Hotel.  We were fortunate to have a great vendor-team to pull this beautiful wedding off.  There were so many special touches including the Bride’s grandmothers prayer-book being incorporated into her bouquet, a solo by the brides brother before she walked down the aisle, custom linens, a surprise Pie Bar in lieu of a Groom’s Cake as well as a special treat for all guests in the form of a late-night shot of “Elk’s Milk” which is a family tradition from the Groom’s side and dates back for generations.  The drink is a concoction of Orange Sherbet and Vodka.  I must admit, it was quite tasty.  Everything created such a wonderful celebration for two very special people and their amazing parents!

Everything about this wedding was beautiful so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.  Special thanks go out to Shannon Belletti for providing the majority of the images below in addition to some taken by JBEvents Staff.

Katie & Brannon

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:40 am by JBEvents

I know I say this a lot, but this wedding was absolutely amazing!!!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Katie & Brannon from the very beginning of their wedding planning.  I was able to refer them to excellent vendors that would be able to provide and produce the vision for their wedding.

Capturing the images of the day was Angela of Angela Wilson Photography.  She and her team were very detailed in the schedule of photos to be taken throughout the day.  I’m sure you will agree, the images she took which are included below are ahh-may-zing!!

The always wonderful stylists from The Moore Agency provided the make-up for the girls.  A friend of the bride, Christel, provided the hair styles for the wedding party.

The venue was the beautiful historic hotel, The Georgian Terrace

The ceremony was held in the Piedmont Ballroom.  A custom aisle runner that was midnight blue with platinum was produced to match Katie’s color scheme.  JWilbur of EventScapes, created the most gorgeous arbor where the ceremony took place.  White sheer fabrics as well as the midnight blue/platinum fabric covered the frame of the arbor softening the look while clusters of flowers were attached to the corners and in the center.  Two large and lush arrangements on pedestals flanked the ceremony area.

One of my favorite string ensembles provided the ceremony and Cocktail Hour music, Amati Chamber Ensemble.  This group, led by Sarah Paul, is comprised of extremely talented musicians who play a variety of music genres.  They are top-notch professionals on many levels.

The officiant, Sheila Preacher, is the Godmother of the Bride and certainly provided a very personal and touching ceremony.  The couple wrote their own vows and I have to say – they were so touching.

With a rather large guest list, we knew from the beginning that the set-up of the Ballroom would require some creativity.  Instead of planning on having a seat for every guest, we decided to have a “space” for every guest.  Various sized tables were placed inside the ballroom including tables to accommodate up to 12 guests as well as high-boy tables allowing for guests to prop while eating. JWilbur created several varieties of centerpieces ~ each of which were beautiful.  There were lush full centerpieces on some tables while others were adorned with short, square vases containing blue hydrangea.   Crystal “bling” was a common element included in the arrangements. The room was treated to uplights, provided by PPi, which gave a warm glow and added to the ambiance.

Classic Tents provided a tent on the terrace which provided additional seating for guests.  It had clear walls on the street side allowing the view of the night sky to still be seen.

Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes provided the wedding cake.  Not only was it beautiful, but it was delicious.  The design of the cake was fashioned after the lace on Katie’s dress and had a monogram on the center layer.  The parents of the bride made a trip to Ireland a few months before the wedding and while there purchased a Crystal bride and groom cake topper directly from Waterford Crystal.

Atlanta Showstoppers provided the entertainment for the evening.  What a fabulous show they put on.  The guests were on the dance floor all night having a blast.

Guests were treated to M&M’s in small jars as their favor.

The couple departed through a Sparkler fanfare to their awaiting Horse and Carriage from Nottingham Shire Carriage for Hire.  As they pulled away their guests cheered and passersby honked all wishing the Happy Couple congratulations.

We were so pleased to have worked with the couple and the bride’s parents!  We wish them a lifetime of Happiness!!!

Special thanks to Angela Wilson for providing these images!!!

A Day in the Park for Sara & Evan

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 2:41 pm by JBEvents

As Sara sat on the window ledge of her Bridal Suite at the Georgian Terrace Hotel watching the rain fall in Midtown, she refused to let the weather dampen her spirits but instead focused on the amazing celebration that would be taking place in a few, short hours.  Just like Dick Van Dyke in the Broadway production of Bye, Bye, Birdie ~ we were all singing “Gray skies are gonna clear up, put on a happy face”, and they actually did!!!

The Moore Agency provided the hair and make-up services for the bride and as always did a fabulous job.  Sara was stunning!

Frank and Wendy Gibson were the photographers for the day and they certainly had a lot of beauty to work with.  Pre-ceremony photos began at the hotel and with all of the amazing architectural details of this piece of Atlanta History, they were able to capture so many gorgeous images.

The bride selected her bridesmaids gowns from Bella Bridesmaid.  They were a blush chiffon and the fit and style was very elegant.

When the time came to head over to the Church, The Bridal Party boarded a Trolley from Great Knight Tours that took them to the beautiful Peachtree Christian Church.  The Groom and Groomsmen were also taken by Trolley to the church where they had their time with the photographers.

Sara wanted to have the flowers for the bouquets, boutineers and ceremony décor to be more subdued in color and focused more on whites, creams, blush with a touch of purple ~ however, she wanted the colors to be more intense for the reception.  Larry and Greg of Foxgloves and Ivy did an amazing job on the floral décor.  The centerpieces were gorgeous!!!  The Estate Table was especially stunning!  Since we had a very large table to accommodate over 20 guests, that dictated the need for rather extensive décor.  Larry and Greg used large white candelabra and topped them with luscious arrangements and swags of crystals.  They were just perfect and created such a special look and feel for the Estate Table.  The other guest tables had a variety of centerpieces incorporating varying sized candles and floral arrangements.  Larry and Greg truly captured the vision that Sara had for her wedding!!

The linens, which we choose from Chair Covers and Linens were perfect and provided just the “romantic” look and feel we were going for.  As a special touch, the chairs at the Estate Table had brooches attaching the chair ties for extra bling.   During Cocktail Hour, a rose-colored texture linen was used on some of the tables, while an ivory linen was used on others.  The contrast between the two created a lovely setting that was both romantic and elegant.  The guest tables linen was a very soft color that was a mix between ivory and taupe with a pink undertone.

One very creative aspect of the wedding was that Sara provided a Calendar consisting of photos of she and Evan and had each guest find their Birthday and “sign” their greeting on that date.  They will be able to enjoy the calendar during the coming year while remembering those who shared in their joy at the wedding!!

To further enhance the setting, PPi provided lighting in the tent.  The glow created from the uplights added to the romantic feel of the wedding.

The beautiful and delicious wedding cake, which was a variety of Cheesecake flavors from the always amazing Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes was a HUGE hit with the guests!! They loved the cake so much that many went back for seconds (and I’m not naming names, but I saw some even going back for thirds!)

Shimmer Band provided through East Coast Entertainment, were the entertainment for the evening and they kept the crowd on their feet dancing all night long.

Guests had fun taking photos in the Photo Booth provided by ShutterBooth and were able to take photos away with them as a favor while also leaving a copy of the photo with a personal note for the couple.

When the time came for the party to end, guests lined the stairs and held up sparklers as Sara and Evan made their way through to the waiting vintage Rolls Royce from A Lovely View of Heaven that whisked them away to begin their honeymoon!!!

We were so pleased to have worked with this couple and their families to create and produce this gorgeous {and flawless} wedding and we wish a lifetime of happiness to Sara & Evan!!!

A huge THANK YOU to Frank Gibson for sharing the majority of these images with just a few of my snapshots of some of the details!  Please enjoy!

Love was in the air for Emily & Elliot

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:16 pm by JBEvents

This past weekend was beautiful and created the perfect backdrop for the wedding of Emily and Elliot!!

What an adorable couple they are!  They both have infectious smiles and you can see and feel the love they have for each other!!

Emily selected two GORGEOUS dresses for her wedding day.  One that was classic, elegant, timeless and dreamy and the other was fun and beautiful.  She also had two amazing pairs of shoes…. for the ceremony she wore a flat, gold sparkly Steve Madden pair and for the reception {the PARTY shoe} she wore fuchsia glittery heels from Kate Spade!  I was in love with them both!

Many times there are a variety of vendors involved with providing services for an event and when those vendors understand the concept of Team Work, it is totally amazing what can be accomplished.  Such was the case with this wedding!

The venue, the Atlanta History Center, one of Atlanta’s most sought after venues for weddings and other special events, created the canvas for the event.  The dedication and flexibility of the Sales team were very much appreciated and the on-site staff were top-notch!

The creative genius (or head artist keeping with the painting theme) behind the event, JWilbur of  EventScapes Atlanta (a division of CCP Events) pulled together not only a stunning design theme, but also the perfect team of vendors to work together to achieve it.  It takes a special talent to listen to a client and then design the decor to carry out their vision.  Wilbur has an uncanny way of being able to do just that.  He is able to take the desires of the client and couple them with his ideas to present them in a way that not only makes sense but combines elements that you might not commonly think of as working together.

After determining the direction of the design and use of space, Wilbur brought together the perfect vendors to fulfill the vision.  From the always professional team of Peachtree Tents and Events who provided the tent and the hard goods to the talented and dedicated team from PPi who provided sound and lighting, to The Plant Peddler who brought in beautiful topiary trees for use in the ceremony and in the reception tent – the camaraderie and team spirit of each person working towards the common goal of creating the fabulous event was evident!

Kristen Alexander, another creative genius, was the photographer of the wedding.  She has one of those “eyes” that sees things others do not – so her photos are always gorgeous and emote feeling!  I certainly appreciate Kristen sharing a sneak peek of the images from the wedding – which you can see below.  {I decided to forego posting my snapshots right now since I had these fabulous images to share instead}!

The Event Performance String Ensemble provided the ceremony music and they were wonderful.

The crowd had a wonderful time feasting on the delicacies from Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub who served as the caterer for the wedding.  The restaurant is one of the couples favorite places to eat – so they thought it would be great to share the food they so enjoy there with the guests attending their wedding.

EastCoast Entertainment provided the band for the evening, Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters.  They kept the crowd entertained and on the dance floor throughout the evening.

We were honored and thrilled to be a part of this truly amazing wedding.

We wish Emily & Elliot a lifetime of Happiness!!!

And now for the sneak peek courtesy of Kristen Alexander, photographer extraordinaire!!!

Wine Themed Wedding for Amy & Nick

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 3:44 pm by JBEvents

A hot July day at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation was the setting for what could only be described as an amazing wedding.

One of the things that I love is when my clients take my recommendations on the vendors to use for their event because I know going into the planning and all the way through the production of the event things will go smoothly AND my client will receive excellent customer service as well as superior quality of product from those vendors.  Such is the case with this wedding!

Please grab your favorite beverage, sit back and relax and enjoy the story of the wedding of Amy and Nick!!

Late last year, I met with Leah (Mother of the Bride) and Amy (The Bride) to begin planning for The BIG Day!  I knew immediately upon meeting them that we were a good fit – you know the kind where you feel as though you have known the family forever!

The first decision was the venue.  They had already looked at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation, and after discussing what a beautiful place for a wedding – that decision was made.  The Ritz-Carlton Lodge is one of those venues that is a not-so-far-destination location.  The good thing for this particular family is that they have a home in the area, so they were able to utilize their comfortable surroundings for all of the pre-wedding activities.

Amy selected her gown from Bride Beautiful.  The gown was an Anjolique design in ivory double sheen organza with a strapless sweetheart neckline, pick-up ball gown with corset back and embellishments.  Amy looked absolutely stunning in the gown.

The bridesmaids wore a Lula Kate design in “bud” dupioni silk from Bella Bridesmaid.  The dresses were above the knee with a ruffled neckline.  All of the girls looked beautiful in the dress.  They style was very flattering on every one of them.

The groom and groomsmen wore Silver tuxes with a coral tie.  They all looked so handsome.  The groom sported special “groom” socks which were an adorable accessory.  Another special touch was that the groom had custom-made NIKES for each of them.  The groom’s pair was complete with bright green laces and had his nickname and wedding date embroidered on them.  The groomsmen had bright orange laces in keeping with the color scheme of the wedding.  The guys changed into their new sneakers for the reception and we had fun taking a few cute photos!

While on the subject of shoes, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the brides.  For the ceremony, the bride surprised her groom by having coral sandals with rhinestones to match the guy’s ties.  Then, not to be outdone by the guys, she too had a custom pair of shoes in the form of a heeled flip-flop adorned with a large rhinestone with her new name embroidered on them which she wore for the reception.

We worked with Larry and Greg from Foxgloves & Ivy for the floral décor.  The color palette was one of my favorites, hot citrus colors.  Various varieties of flowers were used and included “Cherry-O” roses, Orange Gerber daisies and hot pink miniature Gerberas, “Mozart” miniature callas, gold celosia, lisianthus in purple, orange Dahlias, Vermillion gladiolas, pink larkspur, “Revert” green Fuji mum, purple stock, Olive branches, hydrangea in Baby Green, and two shades of pink, as well as coral Hypericum berries!  For the ceremony, they created 2 large and lush arrangements that were placed on sleek columns in a very neutral color.  The reserved rows were denoted by an ivory ribbon with a nosegay attached.  The reception décor consisted of both high and low centerpieces.  Glass cylinder vases in various heights with fuchsia ribbon attached were used to hold the arrangements.  The Estate Table was beautiful with two large arrangements, three smaller arrangements plus vases which held the bridesmaids bouquets and tall candle holders with floating candles.

The ceremony was planned to take place on the event lawn by the new Pergola – however, due to threatening weather, we had to make a last-minute decision to move the ceremony inside.  This is one of the hardest parts of my job – since I know how badly the bride wants that outside wedding – but, keeping the safety and comfort of everyone in mind, sometimes these types of decisions have to be made.  In this instance, Amy was such a trooper and went along with the “change” saying that “nothing could ruin my special day”!  So, with some quick movement by all of the vendors, we were able to set up the ceremony in Salon I inside where the threatening storms would not disturb the celebration!

As guests arrived for the ceremony, they were treated to passed hors d’oeuvres and a champagne bar.  We gathered the group in a central location as was planned for the original ceremony plan and decided to still do that for the location change.  Guests were able to mingle and enjoy a variety of cold hors d’oeuvres and create their own champagne cocktail with the selection of various fruits and blends.  This was such a welcome surprise for the guests.

Since the ceremony was originally to take place outside, and since we knew it would be very warm, we decided to provide hand-held fans for each of the guests to use.  In keeping with the color scheme, we used Fuchsia and bright Orange fans – alternating the colors on every other seat.  This made for a wonderful photo-op at the conclusion of the ceremony.

After the group photo, guests were then invited to join the Cocktail Hour where they were greeted with a large selection of hors d’oeuvres as well as beverages to include the champagne bar.  Johnny Porrazzo provided the musical entertainment for the Cocktail Hour and was certainly a hit.  The Majestic Photo Booth provided their services so guests were making excellent use of the photo booth to take fun and memorable photos which will serve as a memento for the Bride and Groom as well as the guests.  A very touching story was told to me by the father of the bride.  He said that when he and Amy’s mom went on their first date, they had their picture taken in a photo booth and that was 30 years ago.  I told them that they MUST re-create that first date on this special occasion and they did.  I sneaked a peek at their pictures and have to say it made my heart smile!

Shari Zellers and her team provided the photography services for the day.  Being the true professional that Shari is, she took the time to make a visit to the venue before the wedding weekend to scout out the best locations for the photo ops.  She even went so far as to check certain locations at the same time that the specific photos would be taken so determine the location of the sun in order to take into consideration the accompanying heat.  This was truly a time-saver, as on the wedding day, she had a clear plan on where each of the photos would take place. I can not wait to see her photos from the wedding as I know they will be spectacular.  I’ll be sure to re-post them here on my blog when available so you too can see what a talent she is.

A favorite ensemble of mine was selected as the ceremony musicians – Amati Chamber Music Ensemble.  Led by Sarah Paul, this group is awesome to work with.  Sarah is so personable while being the utmost consummate professional.  She offers assistance to clients in selecting their music and will work within the ideas of the client.  Of course her performance is always fantastic and I always try to be close by so that I can hear the beautiful music.

A close friend of the family, Lisa, sang The Lord’s Prayer during the ceremony accompanied by the string ensemble.  Lisa was also in the parents of the brides wedding where she served as Maid of Honor as well as soloist.

Particularly endearing was that the bride’s brother served as the officiant.  He might have been nervous – but he did a wonderful  job.  There was one point in the ceremony where he “slipped” and instead of saying “you may now kiss your bride” – he said “you may now kiss my sister”.  He caught himself immediately but the “slip” was PERFECT!!!!

One of the areas of design that I think makes a celebration unique and even more beautiful is linens – so for this wedding, I could think of none other than Tamara Gollob of I Do Linens.  Taking the concept and ideas to her, she created custom linens that were totally awesome.  Keeping in mind our hot citrus color scheme, we selected Fuchsia linens for the guest tables and the accent tables but for the Estate Table and the Cake Table, we used a complimentary color of Coral with an overlay that contained the design that was used in the wedding invitations.  For me, it’s important to carry a theme all the way through, and even if not everyone recognizes the similarities, when looking back, you can clearly see the cohesiveness of the event from start to finish.  The family was thrilled with the outcome and admitted that everything was even more beautiful than they had ever imagined.

PPi provided all of the sound equipment, including the DJ system, as well as the ambient lighting around the room and the custom GOBO.  Jimmy Economos provided his expertise in determining what would be needed for the DJ that was coming in from California for the event.  Since he too is a DJ, he was keenly aware of what would be needed and this was such a relief for me in knowing that there wouldn’t be any surprises for the DJ.  Also, the lighting that was provided was just perfect.  We had pin-spots on each table to highlight the décor and the cake table.  It’s amazing at how different a room can look just by adding these types of lights.  I’m a huge proponent of event lighting!!

Speaking of the DJ, Alvin Caampued, a friend of the couple from California, provided the entertainment for the reception.  He played a large variety of music and kept the dance floor full.  This was a big dancing group and there were times when you would have thought that “So You Think You Can Dance” was filming!!! Alvin was such a pleasure to work with and although we are separated by the expanse of the U.S., I hope that we will have the opportunity to work together again soon…..because of course, we too travel for events!!!!

The JBEvents staff videographer, Angela McIntire, provided the video services of the event.  She always does such a great job and gets excellent footage without being one of those in-your-face videographers.

Nick, the groom, is a high school football coach and teacher.  To give a little different spin on the Wedding Party Introductions, we had the wedding party enter the Ballroom carrying Pom Poms create a tunnel for the Bride and Groom to run through and end up on the dance floor for their first dance.  This was a great start for the evening and got everyone all excited and ready for the party that followed.

It goes without saying that the meal was delicious.  The family selected a dual entrée of Filet of Beef and Sea Bass with appropriate accompaniments.  A special treat of a Raspberry Sorbet with a Champagne finish was served between the salad and entrée.  The wedding cake was a Grand Marnier chiffon cake with strawberry filling.  As guests were working off their dinner by dancing, a Fondue station was displayed with delectable goodies such as shortbread cookies, mini brownies, gingersnap cookies, chocolate chip cookies along with all sorts of fruits were provided to dip in three different fondues; white chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate.  YUM!

One of the common elements that was a theme through the event was WINE.  Since the couple lives out in California where vineyards are all around, they wanted to incorporate some of their favorite wines into the reception for guests to enjoy.  The Ritz special ordered many of the varieties that the couple chose.  Each table was named for a Wine, and then a bottle of each White and Red were from that winery was placed on the table for guests to sample.  Since each table had a different wine, guests were able to go to other tables and try other varieties.  It was like having a private wine tasting.

Also in keeping with the wine theme, we used these adorable wine corks for the Place Card holders that guests were welcome to take with them.  The guests were also given wine stoppers that had a large heart at the top as a favor.   Maren Nicholas provided calligraphy services for the Escort Cards, Place Cards and Table Name Signs.  As always, her work was impeccable.

As the evening came to a close, Amy and Nick made their departure through yet another “tunnel” created by their guests who were holding long sparklers in a path that led to their awaiting chariot, I mean Golf Cart.  They were driven away waving while guests were still cheering them on.

This was truly a beautiful wedding for a fabulous family!!  We wish Amy and Nick a lifetime of happiness!!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this special day!!!!!

OF LACY BRANCH EVENTS | ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

was so excited to be a part of this event.  Together with many awesome vendors, we created an evening that inspired and delighted those in attendance.

Kori Smith contacted me several months ago to ask if I would partner with her to plan this special event. She had a vision of providing a unique event for Event Planners that would allow them to feel pampered and appreciated.  I gladly accepted and immediately began making plans and working with other partnering vendors to create what ended up being an awesome  By Invitation Only event.

Special thanks go to Julie Bilecky and the staff at Villa Christina for working with me to create a scrumptious menu and to Danny Wilson of The Savage Garden whose creative genius designed stunning and unique décor and to Tamara Gollob of I Do Linens who provided the gorgeous linens and to the amazing Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes who designed and created the most spectacular cake that was not only beautiful but oh, so delicious!!!

Other vendors that lent their helping hand to make this event a success were:

PPi

Event Rentals Unlimited

Quest Drapery

Confetti

Sugarcoated Radical

SoulPhonics & Ruby Velle

Sensational Baskets

Fonix Entertainment

Anna Bellagio

In the Moment Photographs

BLEND Parfume

Each of these vendors provided various components for the event as well as presenting their company in a Vendor Room where Guests could mix and mingle to learn about each of the sponsors.

And special thanks goes to Lacy Branch, of Lacy Branch Events in St. Louis, Missouri, our guest speaker who gave an excellent presentation that was informative, interesting and humorous.

As the guests arrived, they were treated to our signature drink for the evening – which was a Makeover-tini – a creation by the Bartender of Villa Christina.  It was a citrusy mix that reminded me of an Orange dreamsicle.  Delicious hors d’oeuvres were passed as guests mingled while meeting vendors who had set-up their displays in the Bridgeview Room.

After the Cocktail Hour, guests were invited into the main Ballroom where they entered a transformed space that was elegant, edgy, and colorful.  It was truly a sight to behold.  I selected a color palette of hot citrus colors to welcome the beginning of Summer.  I was so proud to see all of the planning and designing come together and was so pleased with the outcome.

After a few opening comments, guests were served an International Tapas Plate consisting of Thai Beef Salad in a Cucumber Cup, Roma Tomato Stuffed with Creamy Crab Salad, Cheese and Pimento Stuffed Crisp Pea Pod and Chicken Salad Stuffed Sweet Pepper Roulade.

The main entrée was a Teriyaki Glazed Boneless Breast of Chicken served over a Korean Glass Noodle Salad with a side of Tempura Battered Garden Fresh Vegetables which were drizzled with a Remoulade Sauce.

Keeping the guests entertained throughout the event was SoulPhonics with Ruby Velle.  A high energy band that has been Grammy nominated.

To add to the fun of the evening, 5 guests were randomly selected to receive a mini-makeover, compliments of the Stylist Kori Smith team while the rest of the guests competed in a Table Decorating contest which proved to be not only a fun activity but a great team-building exercise.  The results were much more than we had ever anticipated and these folks truly showed their creative side and perhaps one of the biggest reasons they are in the profession they are due to their quickness and creativeness which comes into play so often!! Each of the 6 teams had the same basic supplies to work with and what resulted were 6 completely different designs, each one being amazing and actually beautiful – which was definitely not the expected outcome!

As the competition ended and the make-overs made their way back into the room to model their changes, guests were served the delicious cake.  Three different flavors were provided, a Lemon with Raspberry filling, Italian Cream Cake and an Amaretto with Chocolate Ganache.  Guests were also invited to visit the Chocolate Bar provided by Sugarcoated Radical where they were greeted with a selection of interesting infused flavors of chocolates presented to uniquely on a piece of board with various shelves and containers that was attached to a vintage bike.  Certainly not your ordinary candy buffet.

Lacy Branch judged the Table Decorating contest and selected the design of the team that she felt best used the items in a creative way.  The winning team used oranges as candle holders as just one of the creative details of their design.

Each guest received a Swag Bag full of wonderful items supplied by the vendors involved and was definitely a huge hit. The bag was filled with wonderful surprises such as jewelry from Anna Bellagio, chocolates from SugarCoated Radical, handmade note pads from In The Moment Photographs, Perfume sample from BLEND Parfume, Note Pad and Pen from Janice Blackmon Events, Hair products from Joico provided by Kori Smith as well as nail polish and other hair products.

Thanks again to Kori and all of the other vendors that worked together to make this a huge success!  I’m honored to have been a part of it.

The following gallery of photos show all of the details of the event.  The photos are not in any specific order, but I hope you will sit back and enjoy viewing the beauty and fun of the special evening for Event Planners.
