Holiday Nuptials for Katelyn & Ross

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:00 am by JBEvents

Getting married around the Holiday’s is such a special time especially when you have family traveling in from all over to join in the joyous occasion.  Such was the case for Katelyn and Ross.  Their ceremony was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with reception to follow at the InterContinental Hotel.  We were fortunate to have a great vendor-team to pull this beautiful wedding off.  There were so many special touches including the Bride’s grandmothers prayer-book being incorporated into her bouquet, a solo by the brides brother before she walked down the aisle, custom linens, a surprise Pie Bar in lieu of a Groom’s Cake as well as a special treat for all guests in the form of a late-night shot of “Elk’s Milk” which is a family tradition from the Groom’s side and dates back for generations.  The drink is a concoction of Orange Sherbet and Vodka.  I must admit, it was quite tasty.  Everything created such a wonderful celebration for two very special people and their amazing parents!

Everything about this wedding was beautiful so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.  Special thanks go out to Shannon Belletti for providing the majority of the images below in addition to some taken by JBEvents Staff.

Behind the Scenes as Whitney and Brett tie the knot!!!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:41 am by JBEvents

I wanted this blog post to be a little different from the others so I hope you enjoy it.

Based upon where a client chooses to have their event, many times it is necessary to have what we in the industry call a “room flip” or “room transition”.  This is where the same space is used for more than one part of the event; however, the look of the space is transformed for each different segment.  That was the case with the wedding of Whitney and Brett. The changing of the room involves many people and has to happen usually in an hour or less.  For this wedding, it included removing the ceremony chairs, rolling in tables, placing the correct number of chairs at each table, having the DJ arrive and set up all of their equipment, setting of all tables with linens, décor, place settings, etc., filling of the water glasses, placing favors, table numbers and menus among other tasks.

The venue, which happens to be one of my favorites, King Plow Arts Center, was their chosen location for their ceremony and reception.  With the assistance of the vendors, this wedding was a beautiful combination of team work as well as the mixing of DIY and professional touches.  The result was stunning.

We had a photography team documenting some of the details of the day as well as showing what goes on behind the scenes during a “room flip”.  A huge thank you goes out to Rebekah and Melissa of R. Wigley Photo for shooting the images for us! They caught the JBEvents team in action as we produced this flawless event as well as capturing the room-flip.  Although the photos are not presented in a time-lapse manner, you can see how things happened to get the room ready.

The wonderful vendors that worked together to create the awesome wedding were:

Brides Dress:  Bride Beautiful

Reception Entertainment:  D Street Entertainment

The bride provided many of the décor items for her vision.  To keep with her rustic, chic theme, Whitney provided lanterns which were incorporated into the centerpiece designs.  A ton of candles were used and especially in that venue it provides such a stunning glowing effect.

Her father crafted several items which were used in the décor as well as creating custom wine bottle stoppers for all of the guests.  They were a huge hit!

This group – and I have to say led by the Father of the Bride, were into having fun.  Not only did the Father’s toast have everyone laughing hysterically when he provided Brett with the dowry of a blow-up sheep and a rubber chicken – but then later in the evening, the Father and the groomsmen donned ZZ Top like beards and hats and did a little song and dance for the crowd.

The couple made their escape amid sparklers into their waiting car where they drove off into the night as they begin their life as a happily married couple!

We thank Whitney and Brett for allowing us to be a part of their wedding day and wish them a lifetime of Happiness!
