What to give the couple that has everything (for their home)

People are getting married later in life, many couples live together before getting hitched, many have lived on their own for many years before they meet The One- we know this, none of this is truly blog-worthy or news breaking. Yet this does pose a very new problem to many wedding guests looking to gift shop for their newly engaged friends or family. It also may cause hesitation for brides and grooms setting up gift registries- as they wonder do we even have counter space for a Panini press? What would I really do with a five-tier cupcake display tray?

Many couples have already collected all the items needed to make a house a home, sometimes needing to sell (or toss) duplicates of toasters or blenders as they combine households. So as the guest, bride or groom looking to make gift registries and purchases- what do we do??

Some companies have found an answer within a different question….has anyone ever had too much fun or too much luxury on a honeymoon? I’m thinking not. Yet people have often had not enough money for that honeymoon of their dreams. Enter Honeymoon Registries- an easy and etiquette-friendly way to pitch in for the couples’ perfect vacation.

There are many websites that offer honeymoon registry services, as well as blogs and wiki articles that compare, rate, and review the agencies. Honeymoon registries offer a variety of ways to chip in on the honeymoon in an affordable way- from splitting up plane tickets to restaurant vouchers and limo service to and from the hotel.

Some companies include Honeyluna, Honeyfund, Traveler’s Joy, The Big Day, and Honeymoon Wishes.

Turns out there is no need for craigslist postings to sell back that swimming with the dolphins excursion or flight to Fiji- can’t say the same thing for a china set.

Honeymoon in Hawaii

Posted in Other Events, Planning Tips and Information, Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 12:46 pm by JBEvents

This post is different from previous posts because it focuses on the Honeymoon.  After the months and months of planning the wedding and all of the stress that comes with it, taking a relaxing honeymoon trip is the perfect way to start your new life together and recharge.

We assist our clients in many ways – and one such way is providing a preferred vendor list that contains every category of vendor that could be needed to plan a special event – even including Travel Agents – who will gladly assist our clients with the plans for their dream honeymoon.

Today’s blog on Hawaii is from one of our Travel Agents, June Cuba, of All Honeymoons.  June is a Certified Hawaii Expert – and can provide you with all of the information on the best places in Hawaii and beyond.  I’m sure after reading the information you will be ready to pack your bags and head to Hawaii — but if you have another destination in mind, June can assist you with that as well.

One of the toughest wedding planning decisions of a newly engaged couple is to decide on their honeymoon destination. The honeymoon is a couple’s first adventure together. It should be romantic and offer something for both the bride and the groom. One of the hottest vacation destinations couples choose is the Hawaiian Islands.

Kauai

Where to Stay:
Kauai has several options for accommodations as well, everything from the ultra luxury spa resorts to the budget condos. There is a wide range of accommodations and options for every budget. With an average Hawaiian vacation destination costing between $3,500 and $5,000 for 7 days, Hawaii can be very affordable.

Waimea Plantation, a one-of-a-kind oceanfront resort with historic plantation cottages amidst a Coconut grove, is reminiscent of the way Hawaii used to be.

Each historic cottage is fully restored with modern amenities and conveniences including a kitchen. The staff at the Plantation is friendly and very helpful and wants to make sure your honeymoon on the island as well as their resort is remarkable. The plantation is very secluded on the western side of the island near Waimea Canyon and the Napali coast. You can catch a boat near the resort to explore the Napali coast which is viewed only by boat, helicopter or by foot. This is an adventure that should not be missed. This award winning resort is perfect for the lower budget honeymoon.

Koa Kea is an oceanfront luxury boutique hotel in Poipu which is known for its beaches. The service is exceptional and the staff just seems to know what you need and want before you do. The food, the spa and the staff makes this a perfect place to unwind after a hectic wedding. The hotel is close to activities and sightseeing for the rest of the island. One of the activities to check out: the ATV tour at the Kipu Ranch. At the end you can swim at the base of a waterfall.

What to see on your honeymoon:
Hawaii, in short, is paradise on earth. Each of the islands, Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Hawaii, Molokai and Lanai has its own unique personality. Kauai is remarkable for its spectacular and widely varied landscape from Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” to the Napali Coast, with cliffs rising 2,700 feet and more than 40 white sand beaches. Within Kauai’s 533 square miles, there are distinct micro-climates including coastal sand dunes, desert-like plateaus, verdant river valleys, foothills and mist-shrouded mountain tops.

The options are endless and you can experience the “aloha spirit” on your special Hawaiian honeymoon destination.

We hope you enjoyed this post on a potential honeymoon destination!  For all of your planning needs, contact us first and we will lead you to the best vendors who will work within your budget to create the wedding of your dreams and the honeymoon of a lifetime!
