Now I know that Valentine’s Day is supposed to be for LOVER’S, but what about those of us that don’t have a significant other in our lives at this time?  Should we be completely left out for this sweet Holiday?  I think not – and so what better way to share the love of your best girlfriends than to have a Party just for the GIRLS!  There are so many options of what you could do, from a night out on the town, dinner and a movie, or what about a GNI ~ Girls Night In!!! {Of course you can change the time frame to a Brunch if that suits you better!} Change your outlook on the whole “Holiday” and focus on the special bonds of friendship with the girls that keep you grounded instead of the outside influences that can make you feel that being alone on Valentine’s Day is just a reason to be depressed!

Once you have made the decision to have a party for your best girlfriends, of course the next step is to send out the invitations.  There are so many options for the style of invitations you can select.  You could of course opt for an online invitation from sources such as Paperless Post, or a personal email, but since this is a special get-together, why  not go all out and select an invitation that goes along with your desired theme.

Next determine the menu.  This will of course vary depending upon the time of day you are hosting your BFF Party!  Use this as a time to have delicious, fun to eat options and not necessarily things that are only healthy options.  Splurge a little and have decadent treats.  It goes without saying that tasty beverages should be offered.  You could have a signature drink to begin the celebration or set up a beverage station where guests can mix up their own refreshing beverage. Desserts that make your mouth water are a definite!  Whatever you decide to offer, chocolate is a MUST!!

Depending on the theme of your party, make sure to have the appropriate items available.  A Spa party is one idea, and what girl doesn’t enjoy being pampered with spa treatments.  You could have a table set with items for each guest to use during the party and then take home with them after.  How about a Lingerie or Pajama Party ~ for a Lingerie party, each guest could bring a piece of lingerie wrapped up and then play a game like “Steal the Gift” so each person ends up with a new piece of lingerie.  A Pajama Party would be perfect if you are having a sleepover.  Have your guests arrive in the PJ’s and then reminisce like young school-girls when you use to have sleepovers.  Maybe you would rather have a movie night – so having finger foods and perhaps a make-your-own-popcorn creation station would be perfect.  If you are a GAME person, then having Girls Game Night would be a fun theme.  Board games would be perfect or maybe you and your friends prefer card games.  Some fun, interactive games could be:

“Never Have I Ever.” This game is sure to weed out the wild ones in your group. Everyone starts the game with three fingers raised. (You could also give everyone three coins or three small objects instead of using raised fingers.) You go around the room with each person saying, “Never have I ever…” and then finishing that sentence. The answers could be outlandish (“…had my eyebrows waxed”) or adventurous (“…gone skydiving”). If someone else in the room has done the crazy thing, the person making the statement has to put one of their fingers down. The last finger standing wins.

“Who? What? When? How?” This is a good get-to-know-each-other game if you make your questions creative. Put out some squares of paper and pens for everyone. Have everyone write down a personal who, what, when or how question and take turns drawing and answering. You’ll find out things about each other you never knew!

Most ladies enjoy an elegant dinner setting, so take the opportunity to set out your finest china and crystal and either make or purchase lovely centerpieces.  You can go elaborate with your decor, or more simplistic, you can DIY or use the services of your favorite floral designer.

NOT THAT kind of FLING!!!  🙂

It’s almost a rite of passage – you know that time when you and all your girlfriends get together to celebrate your upcoming marriage.  This should be an event that you will {happily} remember for years to come ~ but you aren’t sure how you want to spend that evening (or weekend)!  The choices are endless and of course we can help with the planning of the fun party – but should you choose to do it on your own, here are some ideas for consideration!

A Weekend Get-Away

Whether you like the beach or the mountains, or even something more exotic, there are so many places you can go.  Plan ahead for the best travel options {we can refer you to our favorite travel experts}!  Here are some ideas that could prove to be just the thing for your Bachelorette Get Away {fling}!

The Sandy Shores of the Gulf of Mexico ~ Start the day with Yoga on the beach then spend the afternoon soaking up the sun {better than a spray tan for the BIG DAY!} while partaking in the many fun water and beach activities – then  enjoy watching the sunset before heading out for a delicious dinner and evening of dancing!

Lounge chairs with umbrellas on the beachBeach volleyball Beach Tiki Bar windsurfing yoga-beach

The White Cliffs of Dover {aka A Mountain Escape} ~ Maybe you and your girlfriends prefer the mountains!  Rent a cabin where you can just chill and relax or maybe take a hike.  If visiting the mountains in the cooler weather — the perfect combination of course would be S’mores….whether the food kind or the liquid {read alcoholic} kind!!!

Ante up ~ It’s always fun to hit the Casino!!  Whether you just to head to SIN CITY or a more local Casino location – there is always so much to do!  If you aren’t a big gambler, the people watching can not be beat….but if you are up to learn the many games you can sign-up for lessons and then hit the casino floor with your new knowledge and gamble like a professional.  Why not offer a friendly wager among the group with the biggest winner opting to pay for dinner!  Casino’s usually have some of the best entertainment in the form of shows {concerts, comedians, circus acts} that you can find anywhere.  After a day on the floor – take in a show at night before turning in! {Although many folks don’t sleep when in this environment so remember to take your under-eye concealer}.

A trip is not in your future – no worries, there are many other options that are just as fun!

There is always the standard visit to a strip-club or have the stripper come to you!  All guests should be instructed to bring dollar bills for the Bride so that she can show her gratitude to the dancer(s) without dipping into her own wallet. coronet club signmale_strippers

Strippers not for you – that’s fine! How about hosting a “Pure Romance” party…a fun way to share the night with your best girlfriends while learning new things that might just spice it up in the bedroom…maybe everyone could chip in and buy the Honored Guest some items to present to the Blushing Bride {I’m sure the hubby-to-be would thank you all}!

Need something tamer?  How about a dinner at her favorite restaurant followed by a fun activity that could be anything from a movie, to bowling, to showing your sharp-eye skills at the pool hall or for the truly adventurous the shooting range!  What about a comedy club?  Who doesn’t love a good laugh.  Or for those that are NOT faint-at-heart {thin-skinned} – a Drag show.

Still not what you want to spend your girl-time doing?!  Then how about a Scavenger Hunt?  There is actually an app that you can download {Bachelorette Scavenger Hunt by KMT Marketing, LLC ~ $0.99}.  The app which is for iPhone, iPad or iPod allows you to plan, organize and participate in a fun scavenger hunt that you can personalize.  During the “hunt” everyone is updated with the progress of items being found and the photos taken during the Hunt can even be posted to your favorite social media outlets.

What about a Spa Party? Whether you choose to make an appointment at one of the many local Spa’s or you decide to have a Spa Party at home – the options are endless.  Having an at-home party can be relaxing and comfortable with proper planning.  Fun activities like making your own bath salts are a great way to get everyone involved.  Each guest could be asked to bring a specific item or ingredient and then everyone gets to take a custom bath salt home with them as a remembrance of the special night.  There are mobile Spas that will even come to your party so that you can just relax and enjoy massages, or mani/Pedi’s.  You can also be creative with the food and beverages offered at the Spa Party….go ahead..relax, enjoy and have fun!

Are you a Wine Connoisseur or just a wanna-be? How about an evening learning about different varieties of wine?  You can have a Sommelier come to your home and present a lesson in various wines while offering the guests samples and providing excellent tips for pairings.  Many restaurants will offer private or semi-private rooms for  your group and would be happy to have their Sommelier come over and explain the wines offered on their Wine List and even provide suggestions for wine pairings.  One idea that would be educational and fun would be for each guest to select and bring their favorite wine (make sure that everyone has different favs for a well-rounded experience) as well as a food item that would pair well.  This way – your guests are all assisting with the food and beverage for the party – easing the out-of-pocket expenses of the hostess.  You could be as creative as you want on the displaying of the items {see chalkboard table photo below} to provide everyone with the pairing ideas. wine bottles and corkswine pairings  wine and cheese toasting wine glasses

Sporting Events aren’t just for the Boys ~ Does your group of girls like to play tennis? Golf? Bowl? Or maybe you would prefer to be a spectator instead of a participant!  Why not plan a sports related outing?  Get tickets to go to a Baseball, Football, Basketball or Hockey game.  Have dinner before, go for drinks after…get out and cheer for your favorite team while spending time with your best girlfriends.  To keep the evening “sports” related, choose a fun sports bar & grill to go to that will keep the theme of the evening alive and well!

There are not any hard, fast rules for what a Bachelorette party has to look like – so use your creativity and plan something that will leave long-lasting memories of the best girlfriends Fling before the Ring.
