Kathryn & Nick’s Australia meets The South wedding

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:01 am by JBEvents

This was one of those weddings where every detail just made me giddy!  The bride and her family were some of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with and then when I met the groom and his family I realized what a perfect union this would be!

The theme was classic, elegant vintage and romantic and I think that was shown in every detail. It was also a combination of a groom from Australia and a bride from the South with a strong family presence from New Orleans.

The bride’s dress – can I just say WOW!  The dress was designed by Anna Campbell and was purchased at Kelly’s Closet

A very special touch for the ceremony was that the bride’s uncle (from New Orleans) performed the sacrament of marriage at Cathedral of Christ the King.

The reception was held at The Georgian Terrace Hotel.  This venue is known as Atlanta’s Modern Classic, and that was the perfect setting for this couples wedding.

Capturing all of the beautiful moments of the day was Anna Howard.  Sending a very special thanks to her for providing the images in this post!!

David of Chelsea Floral Design Studio provided the beautiful floral’s.  The Estate Table was just gorgeous!

Cashmere Band kept the crowd hopping on the dance floor.  The Father/Daughter and the Mother/Son dances were so perfect.  The brides father is a huge Jimmy Buffet fan, so they danced to “Little Miss Magic”, while the Groom and his mom gave a nod to their Australian roots and danced to “Down Under” by Men at Work.

A very festive celebration for the couple’s departure included a Second Line Dance.  Guests were each given a monogrammed white napkin to wave in the air and the couple had lovely parasols.  After leading a parade around and through the ballroom, the guests then exited to line the stairs for the couple to walk through.  There was so much excitement in the air that the guests wanted the party to continue – and that is how we want every wedding to end, as I say leaving ’em wanting more!

We wish Kathryn and Nick a lifetime of happiness!!!!

Alli & Brett get Handcuffed at their Wedding

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:10 am by JBEvents

As an Event Planner, you are responsible for making sure that everything goes perfectly for your clients, regardless of circumstances that are beyond your control.  This wedding was one of those events where keeping calm was KEY to making sure that the clients were unaware of all that was going behind the scenes and to make sure that the wedding went off as planned!

Let me give you a little background of the wedding day!  The wedding was held on Saturday of Gay Pride Weekend in Atlanta at the main host hotel for the viewing of the parade.  Ahead of the day, we were given a map of the slated road closures.  I made sure to provide the map as well as road closure timing to all vendors involved.  Unfortunately, the map provided was not accurate and additional roads were closed at times ahead of the previously provided scheduled times.  This of course resulted in difficulty for vendors (and even my team) to get to the Hotel timely.  Not to mention, the loading dock is located on a street that is closed for the parade! Situations from one vendor being threatened to be arrested, to two others receiving traffic citations were just a part of the day.  Of course, guests had difficulty getting to the venue as well.

What is important to note is that even with all of the issues of the day, every vendor pulled together to do whatever was necessary to create the perfect wedding for the couple.

The bride had a wonderful time getting out in the parade crowd.  Many of the parade-goers stopped her for a photo-op.  We also ran into a motorcycle officer that allowed the bride to pose with his bike.

The groom, is an Atlanta Police Officer with a great sense of humor so we were able to play around with the whole “law enforcement officer” theme,  The groom’s cake was Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.  The favors were chocolate hand-cuffs. At the end of the ceremony, the couple were hand-cuffed together as a fun surprise for all in attendance. The cake topper was a Police Officer holding his bride.  The table names were of police themed television shows and movies.  The bride is very crafty and created the signs herself.

I absolutely loved being able to incorporate the things most special to this couple to create a truly unique wedding.  That’s what it is all about!!!

One of the special attributes to pay honor to the men and women in the military and law enforcement whom have lost their lives was a “Table set for One”.  We positioned the table behind the dance floor so that it would be a prominent display throughout the evening. Another special tribute was a poem the Bride read for her Groom.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

The floral decor, created by Jim White,  was stunning!  Elegant and romantic ~ pinks, blush, white and creams.  One of the focal points of the decor was the Estate Table with two tall arrangements and a floral garden centering the length of the table with lots of candles.

We had a really great group of vendors that went above and beyond extenuating circumstances to ensure a wonderful wedding for this adoring couple.  Unfortunately, professional images were not made available, so I’m sharing my snapshots.

Special thanks to the vendor-team:

Rachel & Felipe’s Gorgeous, Elegant Wedding

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:12 am by JBEvents

The love was palatable all around for Rachel & Felipe’s wedding.  Their 1st Look was one of the sweetest exchanges I’ve ever witnessed.  They were so adorable seeing each other and the setting was magical. Tears of Happiness flowed from both of them and made the anticipation of the ceremony even higher.

The Georgian Terrace Hotel was the venue for the wedding and as always the service was impeccable.  This historic venue offers a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding and the renovated, spacious guest rooms, allow guests to enjoy their stay right in the city with so many activities close-by. Rachel got ready in her Penthouse Suite and as you will see, she and her bridal party had some fun in one of the bathrooms in the Suite.

Event Savvy designed the fabulous decor.  The color palette was lavender, pinks and creams.  The linens and decor for the reception were exquisite! All of the details of the decor were just perfect and it was such a pleasure working with Doris and her team!!

Luna Strings provided the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour music, while Ascension Band kept the crowd partying all night.

Angie Webb of Suburbanite Photography captured the stunning photos.  We send a special THANK YOU to her for sharing them with us!

We wish Rachel & Felipe a lifetime of Happiness!!!

Enjoy the the beautiful photos!

Victorian theme for Elsa & Brian!!!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:26 pm by JBEvents

The wedding celebration of Elsa & Brian was more than just beautiful ~ it was a weekend full of touching celebrations.

On Thursday, surrounded by close friends and family, the couple exchanged vows at Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  After the small and intimate ceremony, the couple and a small group of family and friends celebrated at the home of a close friend.

Friday, guests were able to partake in one of Atlanta’s finest festivals, The Dogwood Festival.  The Atlanta Trolley was used to provide guest transportation from the hotel to Piedmont Park so that  they could enjoy an afternoon at the Festival.

The Rehearsal Dinner was held at Baraonda Cafe.  A delicious family style meal was served including pasta and chicken Marsala.  Each guest had a choice of their dessert, but what could be better than Tiramisu?

Saturday brought together a team of excellent vendors, most of whom we were delighted to recommend.

Elsa choose an Edwardian/Victorian theme.  The color scheme was purple, silver, and white.  This theme and the colors worked perfectly in the Grand Ballroom of The Georgian Terrace Hotel.

Robyn Feinberg of RSVP Invitations created the custom invitations for the couple.  She did an outstanding job.  The monogram was carried through on all of the paper products created even including the Escort Cards and Table Numbers.

Wilbur of EventScapes created the gorgeous florals which included roses, orchids, stock, hydrangea and Delphinium.  For the ceremony, white sheer drapery created a backdrop while ambient lighting created a romantic glow.  Two pedestals holding lush arrangements with hanging votives flanked the stage while two other arrangements  on Corinthian columns were placed at the beginning of the aisle.  A white carpet was used as the aisle runner.

After the ceremony, guests were invited downstairs for the Cocktail Hour where they were greeted with beverages and delicious hors d’oeuvres.

Once guests were enjoying Cocktail Hour, the vendors began transforming the Grand Ballroom for the reception.

Linens in the luscious hue of Victorian lilac graced the tables provided by Chair Covers and Linens

To add to the elegance of the overall look, Silver Chiavari chairs from Event Rentals Unlimited were used as were old-fashioned saucer type champagne flutes.

When guests were invited back into the Ballroom for dinner and dancing, they found their seat assignments displayed on a life-sized silver frame.  Truly an elegant presentation.

Tall silver candelabra with elegant floral arrangements placed a top centered the tables from EventScapes.  The look was perfect within the Victorian theme.  Wilbur never disappoints!!!

Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes created the Bride’s and Groom’s cakes.  His cakes never cease to amaze me.  Not only were the cakes stunning, but the detail incorporated especially into the Groom’s cake was outstanding.  The Groom grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and one of the symbols of the city was a Pagoda.  Brian has a piece of art that shows the Pagoda which we placed next to the Groom’s cake along with a description of the semblance of the cake.  In addition to the two cakes which consisted of various yummy flavors, guests were also treated to several varieties of Mark’s cheesecakes.

Button It Up provided a Green Screen for a photo booth which was a huge hit with all of the guests.  The couple provided additional props that guests had so much fun posing with.  I love this interactive type of activity which involves the guests while also providing memories for the couple.

Slava and Sarah Slavik were the photographers for the wedding.  Once I receive their professional photos, I’ll post an update – but for now, my snapshots will have to do.

Joseph Leone captured all of the festivities on video and I’m sure the couple will enjoy watching the video for years to come.

Ted Crowder of Atlanta Bands & DJ’s provided the entertainment for the evening and kept guests having fun on the dance floor.

PPi (Production People Inc) provided the lighting and customized GOBO.

Later in the evening, fun late-night snacks came out consisting of mini corn dogs and french fries.  This was a huge hit.

As guests departed, they were treated to a slice of cake in a custom box that too incorporated the monogram of the couple.

It was such a pleasure working with this couple to create their wedding.  We wish Elsa & Brian a lifetime of Happiness!!!!

A Match Made in Heaven!!!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , at 3:12 pm by JBEvents

Fall weddings have a special place in my heart but especially when the couple is as adorable as this one!  Tanaya and Kevin were a delight to work with and their wedding day was just perfect!

The venue, which happens to be one of my favorites, The Georgian Terrace Hotel, was the site for both the ceremony and reception.  The staff is so accommodating and the ballrooms just ooze Southern charm.

Capturing the images of the day was Robin Gaucher. She and her assistant scoped out beautiful areas within the hotel to take the pre-ceremony photos.  Both the bride and groom are so beautiful, that they could easily be models – so Robin had a lot to work with.

I always love when clients do something unique for their wedding, and for Tanaya and Kevin, it was the musicians.  For the ceremony, the keyboardist from the band, Belladae, provided the prelude music while guests were being seated.  They also had two soloists, one of which is the lead singer from Belladae.  As the parents were being seated, one of the soloists sung “Give Us This Day” and then as the wedding party processed, Sarah sang “How Deeply I Need You”.  Both of the soloists had beautiful voices and left the guests wanting to hear more.  For the bride’s processional, she selected a non-traditional song as well – “Every time I Close My Eyes” by Baby Face.  As she and her dad began the walk down the aisle, her eyes met Kevin’s and you could just feel the love between the two.

Island Flowers and Gifts provided the beautiful flowers for the wedding.  Keeping a formal and elegant feeling, the bride’s bouquet contained ivory roses, hydrangeas, and mini callas with the stems completely wrapped in delicate sheer ribbon.  The bridesmaids’ bouquets contained champagne roses and hydrangeas and finished off with champagne ribbon, which perfectly coordinated with their dresses.  The reception décor was also elegant with the whites and ivories to include orchids, lilies and hydrangeas.

As guests enjoyed their dinner, Belladae provided the background music.  Then once dinner was over, DJ E Class took over and kept the crowd dancing all night.  For me, an exciting part was during the Soul Train, when one of the guests, who was a cousin of the bride, took his turn and danced to a Michael Jackson song.  He was fantastic.  During the dance, one of the bridesmaids informed me that he has been a Michael Jackson impersonator for years and use to even travel with Michael.  I’ll admit, I became a little star-struck!

Of course, no wedding would be complete without the cake, and this was no exception.

Celso’s provided both the Bride and Groom’s cake.  The bride’s cake was a four tier square design with ivory and silver pearls.

The groom’s cake was a silver ball and chain!

The common comment heard as guests were leaving was that this was one of the best weddings they had ever attended.  Judging from the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was definitely an enjoyable event for all!

Our wish for Tanaya and Kevin is that they have a lifetime of happiness that exceeds their wildest imagination!

 Some of the details…
