Meghan and Matt’s Spectacular Day!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:25 am by JBEvents

I am so thankful that I have been blessed with some of the greatest clients around.  In the list of great clients, Meghan and Matt are right at the top!

This adorable couple has a very busy life and they realized that they needed help with putting their wedding plans together and I was honored to be their Planner. Special thanks go to David Clarke of Chelsea Floral Designs for the referral!!

The bride’s style was classic, traditional and elegant.  Her color palette was Navy and Peach.  Her dress , from Winnie Couture, was a beautiful lace, fit and flare dress with cap sleeves, v-neck and sheer back.  Meghan looked stunning.

The bridesmaids wore elegant navy dresses with a one-shoulder strap.

The Groom and his groomsmen looked dapper in blue tuxedos with a slight difference of the groom’s being a deep navy while the guys were a brighter shade of blue.

The ceremony was held at Redeemer Lutheran church while the reception was held at the Georgian Terrace Hotel.

Hair and Make-up for the ladies was provided by The Moore Agency.  They all looked so pretty.

A very touching moment was when the Father of the Bride saw his daughter for the first time.  She presented him with a hand-embroidered handkerchief that I’m sure will be a keepsake forever!

Chelsea Floral Designs created the gorgeous floral arrangements.  The bouquets were swoon-worthy.  Megan’s bouquet had a special touch,  part of her mother’s wedding dress was wrapped around the stems.

The amazing Laura Stone captured the day with her talented and artistic eye.  She has such an easy way with clients, that they feel at ease and comfortable, allowing her to capture the beauty and emotion of the day!  Her images will undoubtedly allow the couple, their family and friends to relive the the special day filled with love and joy for years to come.

Guests enjoyed Cocktail Hour in Livingston’s Bar at the Georgian Terrace Hotel, with tasty hors d’oeuvres and refreshing beverages before entering the Grand Ballroom for the dinner and reception.

DJ Eric Anthony was on hand keeping the party going and the dance floor full!

Thank you Meghan and Matt for allowing me the honor and privilege of planning and producing your special day.  I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!!!!

Enjoy these images from Laura Stone!

I took a few photos during the day too……the ones of the cake were because of how the ceremonial cutting had a tiny issue.  If you look at the professional photos of the couple cutting the cake, you’ll see they are laughing and then look closely at the Groom holding the plate up and you will see the slice of cake was a bit of a mess.  I had to take a photo of the end result of the cutting.  I LOVE that they had a good time with the messy cutting – which just goes to show what a fun couple they were to work with!!!

Elise & Michael’s BIG DAY!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:15 am by JBEvents

Sometimes, the star’s align and two people make the decision that was long in coming, to get married.  When Elise & Michael made that decision, one of the first things they did was hire me.  We spent quite a bit of time selecting a venue, but after much deliberation and site-visits, they decided on Chateau Elan!

Once the venue was selected, we moved on to selecting the other vendors to be a part of their BIG DAY!  {See full list below!}

I’ve said it a million times, every wedding (or special occasion), should be unique to the couple (person, business, etc.).  There are many ways to accomplish this, but it all starts out with being true to who you are, what means the most to you and allowing the professionals to do our job to bring that vision to life! For this couple, it was the blending of their love for geeky things with an elegant touch.

It’s no secret that Chateau Elan is one of my favorite venues, because no matter where on the property you have your wedding, it will be wonderful.  With Elise & Michael, we wanted something a little different.  The ceremony took place in the Atrium, which is gorgeous in its own right, but when you add in draping, and a ceremony arch with lush flowers and an aisle treatment with soft touches of color – you have a dream-like setting.

The location for the reception was the Winery Pavilion.  Now, with this selection, there were a few things that the couple didn’t like about the venue, biggest being the 80′ long mural on the back wall. So, the decision was made to drape it.  Calling on the always fabulous creative of JWilbur of EventScapes, he did just that and created a completely different look and feel of the pavilion.  Also, instead of the ceiling fan lights – which aren’t elegant, or in line with the desired look,  Wilbur and his team hung beautiful crystal chandeliers.

AFTER

One of the ways that the couple brought their own, unique style to the reception was with the Groom’s cake which was a replica of the Dungeons and Dragons Handbook.  Mark Lotti, Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes, did a fantastic job creating the cake.  He also made the beautiful and delicious wedding cake! Mark never disappoints and the degree of his attention to detail is remarkable!!!!

The Moore Agency was on hand to make all of the ladies even more beautiful than they already were.  While hair and make-up services were being provided, the ladies enjoyed some delicious bites and tasty beverages in their suite.

Meanwhile, the guys had a fun and filling lunch at Paddy’s Restaurant and Bar onsite at the resort!!

Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Dinner and Reception music was provided by the all-talented, Jeni Michelson!  For the ceremony and cocktail hour, Jeni treated the guests to beautiful renditions on the keyboard – adding in her tantalizing vocals for the cocktail hour.  During the reception, she switched over to DJ and kept the crowd dancing throughout the evening!

Everyone had a blast in the photo booth! ShutterBooth provided a fun, interactive experience where guests were able to create a lasting memory of the wedding for the happy couple as well a having a memento of the special day to take away!

Michelle Landreau captured the gorgeous images throughout the day.  Her easy style makes for a comfortable atmosphere for the couple, which in turn creates images that capture the emotion and beauty of the day!  Thank you Michelle for sharing these images with us!

Jonathan Nye, of Cre8tive Cinema, was onsite creating a film of all of the details and special moments of the day.  He is always such a pleasure to work with, and his talent is top-notch! I’ve included his teaser film down below the photos!

As promised, here is the link to the teaser film by Jonathan of Cre8tive Cinema.

Kathryn & Nick’s Australia meets The South wedding

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:01 am by JBEvents

This was one of those weddings where every detail just made me giddy!  The bride and her family were some of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with and then when I met the groom and his family I realized what a perfect union this would be!

The theme was classic, elegant vintage and romantic and I think that was shown in every detail. It was also a combination of a groom from Australia and a bride from the South with a strong family presence from New Orleans.

The bride’s dress – can I just say WOW!  The dress was designed by Anna Campbell and was purchased at Kelly’s Closet

A very special touch for the ceremony was that the bride’s uncle (from New Orleans) performed the sacrament of marriage at Cathedral of Christ the King.

The reception was held at The Georgian Terrace Hotel.  This venue is known as Atlanta’s Modern Classic, and that was the perfect setting for this couples wedding.

Capturing all of the beautiful moments of the day was Anna Howard.  Sending a very special thanks to her for providing the images in this post!!

David of Chelsea Floral Design Studio provided the beautiful floral’s.  The Estate Table was just gorgeous!

Cashmere Band kept the crowd hopping on the dance floor.  The Father/Daughter and the Mother/Son dances were so perfect.  The brides father is a huge Jimmy Buffet fan, so they danced to “Little Miss Magic”, while the Groom and his mom gave a nod to their Australian roots and danced to “Down Under” by Men at Work.

A very festive celebration for the couple’s departure included a Second Line Dance.  Guests were each given a monogrammed white napkin to wave in the air and the couple had lovely parasols.  After leading a parade around and through the ballroom, the guests then exited to line the stairs for the couple to walk through.  There was so much excitement in the air that the guests wanted the party to continue – and that is how we want every wedding to end, as I say leaving ’em wanting more!

We wish Kathryn and Nick a lifetime of happiness!!!!

Ways to Honor the Memory of a Loved One in a Wedding

Posted in Planning Tips and Information, Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:45 am by JBEvents

Many times, my clients will have a deceased parent, grandparent, sibling or someone else important to them and they want to incorporate a way to honor their memory into their wedding.  There are many ways to do this and I’ll share a few ways that we have used to incorporate honoring the memory of those loved ones.

Displaying photos is always a touching tribute.

Another way to incorporate photos, is to use them as a charm to attach to a bouquet or boutonniere.

A candle burning in memory is also a beautiful gesture.

For one of my clients whose mother had passed away, she wanted her to be close to where the couple would exchange vows, so we placed a sign and flowers beside the altar area.

LaurenDylan112

One of the most special ways of honoring the memory of a bride’s mom, was a custom necklace the groom had made of the bride’s moms actual handwriting.

For this bride, placing her dad’s favorite flower in her bouquet was the special way of honoring him.

Attaching a hanky or a piece of cloth to the bride’s bouquet or dress is a touching way to have the loved one close to you.

Similarly, attaching a piece of jewelry to either a bouquet or the wedding dress is a way of keeping the loved one close to your heart.

Many couples choose to place a message in memory in their Ceremony Programs, which is a very sweet tribute.

Placing a flower on an empty chair at the wedding is another way to remember a loved one.

And one of the most powerful way’s to honor those who have passed was this Table Set for One.  This particular wedding was for a police officer who was previously in the military.  The table represented his friends who have lost their life serving their country or protecting citizens.

Once Upon a Time…The Fairytale of Jenny & Ben

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:00 am by JBEvents

It was such a magical wedding weekend for Jenny & Ben!  Short back story – they are avid Disney fans and became engaged at Disney World in front of the castle.  Ben works as a writer in the film industry in L.A. and they are both very much into “geeky” things.  The hashtag for the wedding was a nod to one of their favorite trilogy’s, “The Lord of the Rings” as well as a play on the groom’s last name – #FellowshipoftheStrings!

On the morning of the wedding, the ladies had a Disney themed Bridal Brunch.  Musicians welcomed the guests with strains of Disney songs.  Guests were given Mouse Ears as they entered with a special pair of a sparkly Bride ears for the Guest of Honor.  The decor around the room and on the tables was adorable Disney themed items including letters for the Bride’s new last name.

While the ladies were brunching, the guys were lunching.  The guys had their gathering at Paddy’s Pub right onsite.  Good food and laughter (and a beverage or two) was abundant as all the special men in Ben’s life surrounded him on his wedding day.

When the ladies finished their brunch, they retreated to a private room to begin their hair and make-up appointments, provided by Brushworx On Location Hair and Make-up.  These ladies had so much fun and were so relaxed, which is exactly our goal. Of course, they all looked beautiful!

There was one very special addition to the wedding gown.  Sewn into the dress, right where it would rest upon her heart, was a small, heart-shaped portion from the Bride’s favorite baby blankie.  I love details like this!!

Brenda of Brenda Upton Photography was onsite capturing all of the memories of the day.  Brenda had a vision in mind and wanted to make sure not to miss the opportunity of some amazing sunset photos.  She took the couple out through the vineyard, across a field and up a hill to an old tree that provided a view of the sun setting with mountains in the background.  During the trek with the couple her mantra was “follow the light”.  The result was a series of photos that are some of my favorites ever!!! {See photos in collage at bottom}.  Special thanks to Brenda for providing the beautiful images for this post.

The couple shared a First Look in the ceremony area and watching the look on their faces as they saw each other for the first time was magical.

Edge Design Group created the stunning decor.  The Chuppah was dreamy, with soft flowing fabrics and magnificent floral arrangements.  They had a Wine Box unity ceremony.  Personal letters from the bride and groom were placed inside a wooden box with a bottle of their favorite wine.  During the ceremony, they sealed the box and they won’t open it until their 1st Anniversary.

For Guest Registration, there were two antique typewriters available so guests could type a message to the couple.  There was also a custom wood puzzle made which guests would select a piece to sign a note and then place the piece on the display to put the puzzle together.

In keeping with the winery location, the mother hand-made a set of wine charms for each guest.  The charms had beads in the color of the wedding as well as a crab and a peach giving nod to the hometown states the couple’s families are from, Maryland and Georgia.

The ballroom was gorgeous!  Edge Design Group created a romantic and elegant setting.  The tables were draped with lovely champagne satin linens while the sweetheart table had an exquisite beaded overlay on top of the champagne.  The couple’s table was then adorned with a lush floral piece and a variety of candles providing a glowing sparkle. Throughout the rest of the room, there were combination of tall arrangements as well as low arrangements with varying heights of candles creating a romantic glow in the room. Softening the look of the wall behind the band were soft, flowing blush drapery creating a beautiful backdrop.

The cake table had a navy sequin linen that added to the presentation of the dramatic cake – created by a family friend for the couple.

jb-0658

Guests were entertained all evening by the sounds of U.S. Beat with their always amazing performance.

This wedding  was fun from beginning to end and when it was time for the party to end, guests were begging for more.

The couple departed through a ribbon fanfare to begin their new life together.

We wish Jenny & Ben a lifetime of Happiness of their own fairy tale.

Fall wedding beauty for Shelby & Drew!

Posted in Weddings tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:00 am by JBEvents

Fall is such a beautiful time, with colorful leaves, usually crisp temperatures and blue skies.  When you add to that a gorgeous bride and a handsome groom, you have the makings for something spectacular! Such is the case for Shelby & Drew.

View More: http://happyeverythingco.pass.us/peetewdding

With venue, Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club, selected, Shelby begin putting her thoughts into the vision for her wedding day.  She selected The Stables as the ceremony and reception site, which lends itself to a rustic vibe – but NOT a mason jar type of vibe, rather an elegant, sophisticated rustic vibe.

She selected some pretty amazing vendors to carry out her vision, such as Christina Robbins (Hair) and McKenzie Mann (Make-up), Happy Everything Company (Photographer),  Low Country Catering, Sweet Creations by Candi Pittman (Cake), John Amoroso (Ceremony and Cocktail Hour Musician), Hip and Hitched (DJ & Sax player), Mary McLeod with Amy Osaba (Florals), Hometown Crew (Videographer) and ShutterBooth (PhotoBooth).  Along with the JBEvents Team, these vendors expertly created and conveyed Shelby’s dream wedding.

There were a couple of adorable features that we really loved.  One was a handmade cross used at the altar.  The other was the oar used for their guest registration.  As I try to impress on all of my clients, be unique, bring your personality out in the wedding – and this couple truly did.

Take a look at the images below and I think you will agree, this was a gorgeous wedding.  What’s your favorite part? {Thank you to Happy Everything Co. for sharing these images!}

We wish Shelby & Drew a lifetime of happiness!!!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day!!

Megan & Zach’s Midtown wedding!

It was such a pleasure to work along side Megan & Zach to plan their wedding.  Making it even more special was that it was my second time working with the groom’s family.  What an honor that is!

Their wedding was just beautiful and every detail was exquisite and perfect!  Bold American Events knocked it out of the park with the designs that truly exceeded the couples expectations.  The look was elegant and lush, with an English Garden feel.  The arch created for the ceremony later doubled as the backdrop for the cake.

The couple exuded love with every look, touch and laugh throughout the day.  You couldn’t help but smile every time you saw them.

One of the most touching moments was the bride opening the gift from the groom.  Her mother passed away when she was younger, and knowing how important she was to Megan, Zach took some old letters and cards with her handwriting and had a gorgeous necklace made with Megan’s initial in her mothers handwriting.  Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.  That gift just goes to show what a special guy, Zach is.

Piedmont Park Wedding for Lauren & Dillon

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:32 am by JBEvents

LaurenDylan134

This sweet couple wanted a “Montana” outdoors feel for their wedding because they use to live there and that’s where their love story began.

With the venue selected, the Piedmont Room at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park, the next step was to begin creating the vision.  I turned to my preferred event designer, JWilbur of EventScapes Atlanta to begin the design concept.  Since the ceremony would be taking place indoors, the idea was to bring the outdoors in.  A focal point for the ceremony was a gorgeous arbor which was flanked by two birch branch walls.  It was stunning.

In honor and memory of the bride’s mother, a wooden sign with the phrase “If Heaven weren’t so far away, we know your would be here today” was placed near the ceremony area.

Amati Chamber Ensemble provided the music for the ceremony.  This group of musicians are top-notch and always provide exceptional performance.

Capturing images of the day and providing the images in this post was 3 Rivers Photography.

The couple opted to have cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake.  As a cake topper, they had two wooden bears custom made which were again a nod to their time in Montana.

The guests were treated to a very energetic party with Yacht Rock Schooner band entertaining them.  The dance floor was filled all night.

A special treat of Krispy Kreme doughnuts were provided as guests departed the celebration which were a huge hit.

The couple departed to their waiting limo from Atlantic Limo, amidst colorful confetti as the evening came to a close.

We wish a lifetime of happiness to Lauren and Dillon!

Enjoy these images of their beautiful wedding.

Sign for hashtag Four Seasons Hotel ~ Atlanta Bright and Early on the wedding day, the team from Formal Faces arrived to make all of the ladies more beautiful than they usually are.  The bride wore her long tresses in a half-up, half-down style with gentle curls falling past her shoulders.   The Beautiful Bride Touching up the lips before the ceremony.   The girls were adorably dressed in matching, monogrammed robes  – a gift from the bride.  This made for some cute photos!  Before it was time to get Jessie in her dress, the girls and the mother of the Bride participated in a toast to the new Mrs. to be!
