Forever and Always…Bonnie and Eric!!!

Posted in Weddings at 12:29 pm by JBEvents

I have had the pleasure of working with this couple for over a year while plans for the wedding were developed.  Two of Atlanta’s most beautiful venues were selected for the special day.  The ceremony was held at Peachtree Christian Church.  Personally, I have always loved this church because it has some of the most gorgeous stained glass windows around.  The reception then followed at the beautiful Biltmore Ballrooms in the Georgian Room.

The wedding party consisted of 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 3 ring bearers and 2 flower girls.  Four of the girls wore lavender dresses while the two maids of honor wore a deep eggplant colored dress.  They all looked so pretty.  The guys wore black tuxedoes while the groom wore a gray tux.  They had purple accessories, which complimented the bridal party.

What would a wedding be without flowers…well we didn’t have to worry about that this time.  On Occasions of Atlanta provided the floral décor for the wedding.  The bouquets were just beautiful.

They also created a variety of centerpieces for the reception.  There were both low and high centerpieces, which provided a nice visual when guests entered the reception room.

The colors of the flowers were white and purple.  Several varieties of flowers were used including peonies, roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas and orchids.

To further enhance the look of the room, candles were placed on all of the tables.

Candles and tall cylinder vases with orchids graced the Escort Card table.

Drew Newman and his sweet assistant, Cassie, were busy snapping photos of the group all day.  We started out with the bridal party getting ready at Hotel Palomar.  In the very early morning, hair and make-up services began from none other than The Moore Agency.  Once everyone coiffed and painted, Drew and Cassie took the group around the hotel to various locations that are truly photo worthy.  Once the girls were finished with their photos, we loaded them on a limo bus provided by Cooper-Atlanta Transportation.  The guys then emerged from hiding once the girls were gone and Drew and Cassie spent time photographing the handsome gents.  I can’t wait to see the images that they captured, as I know they will be spectacular.

Guests that were staying at the hotel were also treated to transportation to the church.  They loaded up on two shuttles (Cooper-Atlanta Transportation) and were whisked away to the church and then taken to the reception.

Once the ceremony was over, a Rolls Royce provided by Lovely View of Heaven, greeted the couple. Even though the trip was short, they rode in style – vintage style that is – to the Biltmore Ballrooms.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Evolution Video was on-site and capturing the events of the day as well.  Also, Jonathan had already created a video montage of the couple that was playing throughout the event.  The couple did a great job of pulling a wonderful selection of photos to be used in the montage, but with Jonathan’s creative genius, he edited them in such a way that it truly seemed like you were watching a movie and not just a slide show.  There was also a surprise video played during the toasting part of the evening that featured the father of the bride, who could not be in attendance at the wedding, giving a speech.  Point of View Video provided the audio/visual equipment.  I was extremely impressed with the service and product provided by this company.

As with every wedding, there is a combining of families and traditions, but this wedding also had the fusion of two cultures.  The Bride’s family is from the Dominican Republic, while the Groom is from here in the south.  Working with A Legendary Event, the couple was able to create a menu that would bring a little of both cultures to the table.  A Legendary Event created a fabulous buffet with main dishes of a Whole Roasted Suckling Pig, Chicharrone de Pollo, Habanera, Citrus Marinated Chilean Sea Bass and Southern Style BBQ Short Ribs.  The tasty sides that were offered included Cuban Style Red and Black Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Asparagus, Fried Plantains, Planked Ratatouille and Collard Greens as well as a variety of other things.  A Candy Bar was provided so that guests could nibble on sweets both during the reception as well as taking home a bag full.  The types of candies were also from both cultures – with many options being from the Dominican Republic.  The candy table looked so tempting and guests could not wait to fill their bags.

The wedding cake, by Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet, was a focal point as you entered the ballroom.  The 4 tiers of the cake were separated and flowers filled the space making it look as though each tier was lying on the flowers.  The couple was so cute when they did their cake cutting, because they wanted to take the cake and so after they fed each other, they both went back for more.

Another fun part of the event was a Cigar Roller provided by Cigartainment.  The guests, both men and women alike were intrigued watching the Tabaquero make cigars while they watched.  He also provided information to the guests describing the materials and method being used.  The Cigar Rolling Station was definitely an informative and fun enhancement for the guests.

This crowd was ready to PARTY and so Jeff with Absolute Entertainment kept the music blasting and sounds of old school and Spanish songs playing all night long.  There was quite a bit of salsa dancing going on and it certainly made it hard to continue with our tasks instead of just watching all of the feet and hips moving on the dance floor.

Bonnie was having so much fun out dancing and working up a sweat, she decided to change into an adorable short, one-shoulder ivory dress with rosettes covering the skirt.  She looked adorable and was then able to continue dancing with all of her guests.

It wasn’t easy getting the guests off of the dance floor to go line up outside to bid the couple a fond farewell – but they finally did and the couple left through a shower of rose petals as they boarded the horse and carriage to take them away.

As always, my team pulled off another successful and stunning wedding.  Thanks to Adrienne, Jessica and Caroline for a job well done!!!!

And together with my team, we wish Bonnie and Eric love and happiness forever!!!!
