MacKenzie says: Pink is my signature color.

Even with a parade down Peachtree at the time when vendors were to arrive for set-up and limos were trying to arrive to transport the wedding party – everything turned out perfect!

The adorable and sweet bride, MacKenzie, had a very specific vision for her wedding day.  Thanks to taking my advice on vendors, she was able to obtain exactly what she wanted.

Starting earlier in the day, the “girls” had hair and make-up services provided by the incomparable Moore Agency.  The girls looked gorgeous and were definitely a sight to behold.

Capturing the beauty and events of the day was the fabulous Nadia D.  I just love working with her.  She has such a way of making the couple and all involved feel so comfortable while her creative eye captures images that most people wouldn’t think of.  I love watching her work because you can see the wheels turning in her mind with every shot she takes.  I personally can’t wait to see the photos because I know that they will be out of this world gorgeous.  For now – you will just have to enjoy my snapshots.

The Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead was the venue for the ceremony.  This is one of the most beautiful churches in the area.  The stained glass windows and long aisle make for a Princess wedding.

MacKenzie’s dress was a stunning ivory satin with beading detail on the waist and around the bottom.  The back of the dress had beautiful diamond sphere buttons and a small bow at the bottom of the lower back.

In keeping with her signature color, the bride wore Hot Pink Valentino shoes.

The bridesmaids wore a steel gray floor length strapless dress that had a slight train.  The back of the dresses also had buttons going all the way down – which mimicked the brides dress.

The Groom and Groomsmen wore black tuxes with gray satin pocket squares while the Ushers wore black tuxes with a pink pocket square.  The gentlemen all looked very handsome.

The florals for this wedding were provided by Foxgloves and Ivy.  They were nothing less than stunning.  The bride’s bouquet was a fabulous round collection of peonies.  They were covered with a satin ribbon that had diamond crystals around the top and bottom.  The fragrance that emanated from the bouquet was magical.

The Ritz-Carlton ~ Downtown was the location for the reception.  The staff at the Hotel is fantastic!  They treat vendors and guests with such dignity and respect.  The Ballroom at the Downtown location is beautiful.  It has a contemporary elegance with shades of platinum.  Of course the service was impeccable.  A truly southern selection of Shrimp and Grits with Lobster Tomato sauce was offered as an appetizer followed by a mixed green salad with spicy pecans, red grapes and Maytag Blue Cheese Malt Vinaigrette.  Guests then dined on a combination of a grilled beef filet with Black Peppercorn Mustard Sauce and a succulent breast of chicken dijionaise with Wild Mushroom Ragout.

The reception was nothing less than breathtaking.  Centerpieces in varying heights graced the tables.  The flowers creating the arrangements were stunning.  In keeping with the theme of Pink – the centerpieces contained varying shades of pink.  The Escort Card table was a work of art itself.  A circle of pink carnations created a base for the Escort Cards to rest upon.  IN the center of the table was a tall glass cylinder vase with a submerged stem of orchids and a lush arrangement at the top.  Guests were so intrigued with the table and could not believe that it was created out of flowers.  I noticed during the evening that some of the flowers in the bed were “picked” – so the guests definitely enjoyed this beautiful and unusual display.

There were so many personalized touches, which for me is what makes a wedding unique.  The Ceremony Programs were a square silver folder with an inset on the front containing the names and wedding date of the couple.  The menu cards were very tailored and stacked tied together with a pink ribbon. One of the most unique and definitely my favorite touch were the table numbers.  The couple used the photos from their engagement session and Nadia created double-sided photo cards with the Table number provided in Pink.  Nadia also created their Guest Book which too contained photos from their engagement shoot.  The guests enjoyed flipping through the book to see all of the beautiful photos while looking for just the right page to write their note of Congratulations.

BBj Linens provided the linens for the event.  We selected a purple smoke bengaline for the guest tables and pink lamour with a white shimmer sheer for the two Estate Tables.  The Sweetheart Table was adorned with a pink lamour underlay covered with a white sparkle sheer overlay that just looked dreamy.  The brides cake table had a pink silk shantung underlay with a couture cloth overlay that was silver with sequins and beads.  It just set the cake off.  The groom’s cake was placed on a silver bengaline cloth.

To complete the look of the room, Silver Chiavari chairs from Event Rentals Unlimited with silver satin chair pad covers were provided.  The chairs truly enhanced the look of the room.

Let them eat cake….and oh they did.  Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes created the delectable cakes.  The bride’s cake was designed to mimic the bride’s dress – complete with silver beads.  I love Mark’s “gown” cakes.  He has an unbelievable knack for recreating the detail of the brides dress so that it literally looks like the cake is decorated in fabric.  But for me – the best part is that his cakes are the Best in the World!!!  The groom’s cake was the University of Miami – Ohio emblem of the M with the team mascot, Redhawks, written across it.  The groom’s cake was a cheesecake providing two different flavors.

I always advise my clients that one of the best and easiest ways to showcase the décor is to hire a lighting company.  It’s amazing how adding ambient lighting and/or pin-spots can change the whole look of a room.  MacKenzie took my advice and we hired, Production People, Inc. Geoff Clapp, assisted in advising my client in what should be done to enhance the overall look of the room and it certainly created a WOW factor.   We also had a customized Gobo created of the couples monogram.  It looked wonderful on the dance floor.

Speaking of the dance floor, the fabulous sounds of The Moxie Band kept the guests entertained all night.  The couple wanted a big band with all of the brass instruments – so the big 10-piece band filled the room with high-energy songs that kept the guests dancing until the very end.

What’s a wedding without transportation?  Well, this wedding proved to have quite a bit of it and each portion flowed smoothly – that is, once we got the vehicles to the hotel.   Cooper-Atlanta Transportation provided three immaculate limos as well as two full-sized coaches.  The wedding party rode in the limos, while guests at the Hotel were treated to the coaches for their transportation to and from the ceremony.  The bride and groom were picked up after the ceremony by a vintage Rolls Royce from Lovely View of Heaven.  What a special treat that also provided many photo opportunities.  At the end of the evening, the couple departed through a shower of rose petals and was greeted aboard a beautiful horse and carriage from Nottingham Shire.  The gorgeous princess and her handsome prince were taken away as the guests cheered them on to a life of happiness.

I heard many comments throughout the night complimenting my staff on our services.  We love to hear those comments because we love what we do and are pleased when others realize the effort we put forth to ensure that every event exceeds the client’s expectations.  We were also grateful to work with such fabulous vendors – in fact, the vendors that were a part of this wedding all came from the Janice Blackmon Events Preferred Vendor List!

We would like to wish MacKenzie and Aaron all of the happiness in the world.  It was such an honor to be a part of your special day!

Thank you to Nadia D for providing the Bridal Portraits which are a part of the slide show.  Just a sneek preview of what’s to come!!!
