Brianna and Trey’s Wedding

March 27, 2010

We had been working on the plans for the wedding for over a year and they finally came to fruition!!

A beautiful sunny day with comfortable temperatures provided the backdrop of the garden ceremony.  The couple was so anxious to see each other that my team had to be ever watching to make sure that they didn’t sneak a peek.

Brianna and her bridal party spent the morning having their hair and make-up done by The Moore Agency.  They all looked just perfect and even with all of the dancing they did, the hairstyles still looked fresh at the end of the night.  They were all so relaxed and seemed to just enjoy every aspect of the day.

The fabulous photographer, Nadia D, was creating her magic and we are all anxiously waiting to see her amazing photos.  Nadia has such a way of making the couple comfortable while her eye is always searching for creative locations and ways to take photos to capture the spirit of the day.  Her assistant, Gavriel, was also ever ready to snap shots all day.

One of my favorite DJ’s provided the ceremony music as well as the reception entertainment.  Ted always makes sure that the group has fun while not being cheesy.  I always know that the music and energy will be top-notch when Ted is there.

Brianna selected a tropical feel for her flowers.  She had a bright and colorful bouquet.  The bridesmaids wore a sailor blue dress and carried pink tulips.  There were two stunning arrangements that graced the buffet that truly provided a tropical feel to the room.  Brianna was born in Hawaii, so there were some flowers used in the arrangements that are indigenous to Hawaii as a remembrance of her birth place.

The guests were treated to favors consisting of Italian Knot Cookies, homemade by the bride.  The cookies along with Jordan Almonds and mints, were placed in a white box and tied with a blue ribbon in the chosen wedding color.  A monogrammed tag with the couples name and wedding date added a classic touch.  They were a big hit!

The whole event went so smoothly and the couple and family was so happy.

I hope you enjoy some of the snap-shots that I took of the preparations.

We wish Brianna and Trey a lifetime of Happiness!

Michelle and Rodney

  March 6, 2010

A spectacular sunny day in Atlanta created a wonderful backdrop for the wedding of Michelle and Rodney!  This couple is one of those that the camera loves.  The large wedding party provided a beautiful frame for the couple.  The ceremony and reception were held at the fabulous Fox Theatre.  With 12 bridesmaids and 10 groomspeople, the stage was almost not big enough.  But we made it work.

Sand Ceremony

The whole wedding party worked on creating a video to the song “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC.  I can’t wait to see the finished version because the different shots that were taken to capture the song were indeed funny.  (Studio 25 Productions ~ Jan Horne ~ videographer)

The photographer was definitely earning his paycheck by photographing such a large wedding party and in several locations.  With the historic Georgian Terrace Hotel serving as home base for the wedding, some truly awesome shots were taken there to include the spiral staircase.  Add to that, the beauty of inside the Fox Theatre and you have some of the best backdrops for creative and stunning photos.  (The Image Makers Studio ~ Dwight Flegel ~ photographer)

The bride’s dress as well as her bridesmaids came from New Natalie’s.  The Bride’s dress was a beautiful heavily beaded strapless mermaid style gown.  The bridesmaids wore red dresses that had a little hidden secret.  The bottom of the dress was removable, so after the ceremony and before the Wedding Party Announcements, the girls removed the bottom portion of the dress and entered the reception in hot red mini-dresses.

There were quite a few interesting details to the décor, but the color scheme of the evening was Red and Gold.

The couple is not much of cake eaters, so they decided to have something other than a wedding cake.  They selected Key Lime and Chocolate Mousse Shooters (Chocolate Pink Café).  For their ceremonial cake cutting, they had a small Key Lime Pie and a piece of German Chocolate Cake ~ their favorite desserts.  They also had chocolate covered cookies that had their names and wedding date on them.  The guests were thrilled with the selection and choices.

Since the couple was only going back across the street at the end of the Reception, the groom carried his gorgeous bride.  One of the bridesmaids used her creativity and made the most adorable sign that was a cutout looking like an old vintage car complete with all of the parts and even a Just Married Sign and writing on the window.  We hung the sign around the groom’s neck so as they passed the guests, they would see the car sign.  It was a very unique and well-received send-off!

This wedding was a perfect example of how initially hiring the wrong consultant can create undue stress for the Bride.  This awesome couple came to me just two weeks before their Wedding because their previous planner (budget consultant) did not do what she “promised” and realizing that the details would not be attended to, they terminated their contract and hired us.  We were able to come in and save the day.  The ceremony and reception went so smoothly and the entire crowd had a fantastic time.  When the evening came to a close, the guests as well as the couple didn’t want the festivities to end.  There were many excellent vendors involved with this wedding that truly worked together to make it the most special day for Chada and Stephen.
